URGENT ~ HURRICANE RELIEF
Donate to World Central Kitchen
|
World Central Kitchen (WCK) is a group of first responders who are currently providing hot meals to communities affected by Hurricane Helene in Florida, North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.
The destruction is devastating. 200+ confirmed dead, many people lost their homes and businesses, tens of thousands are left with no running water, and millions without electricity.
WCK anticipated the need, and had food truck partners and their Rapid Response Field Kitchen Team pre-positioned and ready to respond quickly after the storm had passed.
If you are looking for a way to help, please give to WCK.
Donation boxes are located at all RG locations, or Click the link below to donate directly to World Central Kitchen.

Thank You for your Love and Support.
Ripley-Grier Studios provides ongoing contributions for WCK by selling merchandise and providing donation boxes at all 4 RG locations. We've raised more than $9,500 for WCK.

Greetings and Happy Fall! We've had a super September, epic weather, now into one of the most beautiful months of the year, (because I was born in October?) yep! Not only, but I was born October 2nd, 1946 at the end of WWII - So far it has been an amazing life experience.
This year I plan to begin more serious writing projects, possibly even books. One to promote the early teaching of the miracle of our bodies. We don't know enough about our own bodies to live a truly healthy long life. I advocate that children be taught in depth about their bodies, a great adventurous subject. Learning correctly about their brains, body and all their cool systems cn be an eye opening and life enhancing adventure. I teach a fitness class for older adults and find that the majority don't know much about the "vehicle" we inhabit and travel in for our lives.. Folks who had cars knew how to fill the tank, change the oil, pump the tires, etc. When I was young, we worked on cars, learning how to maintain them, fix them and replace parts; they were coveted, expensive, necessary, fun and valuable as heck! Surely as valuable as the personal vehicle we traipse around this Earth in for 100 years. Now we expect someone else to work on our cars and on our bodies. We're clueless (and scared) about simple medical events. Our bodies (and the brain) are amazing, unique, sophisticated and intelligent mechanisms that we should have mastery of. We move, rely and live our lives in them. Why not teach a child how to maintain their valuable gift/possession from the start. What is my brain? Wow, that amazing computer that we host in our heads and rely on for everything. How do we keep it functioning, not overloaded and keep the hard drive working smoothly, and the software up to date? What about data storage? How do we delete/discard data and input more. There is plenty of room in there and we don't utilize the vast majority of it... yet. Learning all the functions, maintenance and needs of our brain and body early would make us not afraid of it, not having to rely on others who attended 8 years of very expensive school to "specialize", become informed. We would know how to fuel (eat correctly), rest enough, exercise with purpose and fun to stay fit. We would learn what blood is (eww blood) and all the little pipes that our bodily fluids flow through constantly. Know our great nervous system with the amazing spine protecting it and our muscles for jumping and running. Know about all the fantastic pulleys and levers that are our joints, bones, ligaments and tendons. Psychologically, we would free up ourselves to learn, to laugh more, love more, make friends, and cooperate with others, revealing an enlightened philosophy about our humanness rather that a "victim" mentality. We would be able to sincerely question what our purpose is and question what energy does and where it goes when we "pass on"? I had a Feng Shui Master who described the body as the "skin sack" left when you die as your spiritual energy "moved on". I thought, "gross", (then I remembered watching "Six Feet Under" and "I" moved on). I'll keep you updated on my progress.
Speaking of energetic moving on, RG Studios is bursting with creative sounds and sights of our enthusiastic, talented clients. Come on over, rent a studio, sing a song, dance, practice your instrument, have fun & meet fellow artists. When here, help support World Central Kitchen's efforts to provide meals for the victims of Hurricane Helene by purchasing RG shirts, bags, spirit towels, and of course our iconic "blue bottles". Feel free to donate to help folks in the South to recover from this devastation.
This month Ripley-Grier is proud to to be listed as Associate Producer of "Distant Thunder" a unique musical journey of spiritual growth, presented by AMAS Musical Theatre, (a limited run) "be there or be square" at the A.R.T./New York Theatres, 502 West 53rd Street, Manhattan. Produced by Lynne Taylor-Corbett & Shaun Taylor-Corbett. Read more about this one of a kind production in our October Newsletter.
In closing: Please do your best to make decisions about your future and the future path of the United States by voting informatively and with your heart.
All the best intentions, Patricia Ripley
| | CELEBRATING 52 YEARS OF TEACHING FITNESS!!! | |
Hi everyone!
For me, the busiest month of the year has come and gone. From the end of August til now, I have seen Twenty One Pilots 8 times! Twice in LA during my trip in August, and then after I returned home I saw them in in Philly, Baltimore, Newark, Brooklyn (for my birthday show!), Boston, and Toronto. If you've seen them live before, you might know how addicting going to their concerts is. The band is from Columbus, Ohio, and I'm currently preparing to go there for their hometown shows this coming weekend! I've seen a lot of people from previous tours and made some new friends after meeting them in line or staying at the same Airbnb. I'm excited to see many of them in Columbus!
Other than Twenty One Pilots, this past month I've also see the hip-hop duo Joey Valence & Brae a second time, and the live show of The Basement Yard podcast at Radio City. I've been watching The Basement Yard since the beginning and I was so happy to see them live and meet them after the show!
And, since I have finished my Masters, this Fall I will be working with my fellow creative teammates at Ripley-Grier Studios & Flexible Spaces in the PR/Marketing Department.
Until next month, Jeannie
