Dear Friends,
It will be so good to see you this coming Sunday after being on leave for the last month! I am so
grateful for all the folks who have taken care of the details of worship and church life while I have been on leave.
This coming Sunday we will begin a four-week sermon series, “ReVision” that focuses on the new vision and mission that has arisen through the Creating a Culture of Renewal process. I know we have talked about it a little bit before, but I am excited to share the story of how this vision came about and to really dig in to what it means for Maplewood UMC.
I want to invite you to gather a few things to bring to worship with you this Sunday.
First, remember that this is BYOB Sunday (Bring Your Own Bible) to church as we give new Bibles to our own third graders. Bring your 3rd Grade Bible if you can. If that won’t work, bring the Bible you read from most often now. (Just for this Sunday, your phone or other device doesn’t count! AND if you need a Bible to have at home, please let me know!
Second, during the ReVision sermon series there will be unlined note paper available for you artists, doodlers, note-takers, and paper airplane makers. We will have some pencils and pens and even a few colored pencils available. Some of you may prefer to bring your own. My hope is that you will share some of your drawings with the rest of the congregation as we ReVision.
Third, the MUMC Kids are still collecting items for the Festival of Sharing Paper Product Kits. The list of requested items can be found in the newsletter.
You have been in my prayers this past month. It will be good to be back with you on Sunday!
Blessings,
Pastor Kim
