A Letter from The Faithful Bridge Team

Dear St. Alphonsus Catholic School Families,

It has been quite an eventful week, capped off by this morning's Fun Run. The students were amazing and we are so thankful for the many parents and volunteers who came out to cheer them on. An extra special thanks to Olivia Hartley for chairing this year's Fun Run event. You can see more details and some photos below, and we will share more photos next week.

We understand that this week's news about Mr. Johnston leaving was shocking. It was for us as well, but we are committed to bridging the time between principals and fully supporting our staff, students, and families. The three of us have worked very closely with Mr. Johnston over the last 2+ years and especially so this summer. We are all dedicated to continuing our faith-filled educational mission. We wanted to go over a few pertinent topics that we're sure are on your minds:

The Literacy Audit discussed last week is still moving forward as planned. We are very excited for this process and how it will help us to ensure that we are on target with all of our literacy curricula.

We are also very close to hiring a Middle School ELA teacher and we are looking forward to updating you on that soon.

We are excited to continue to build our school climate and culture and we look forward to sharing our progress with you in the weeks to come.

We ended our day today by praying the Examen together as a school, led by Father Kevin. This is a wonderful way to reflect on our school day and helps both our students and staff to look for Jesus in ourselves and others.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to any of us with questions. Our emails are amy@st-alphonsus.org, taimi@st-alphonsus.org, and bruhn@st-alphonsus.org.

Thank you for your continued prayers in the weeks to come.

Very sincerely,

Mrs. Schermetzler, Mrs. Bruhn, & Ms. Parey
