Client Spotlight:
Rhonda Malkin is the CEO of Fusion Exercise, Choreographer, former Rockette, Laker Girl, and founder of Precision Dance Tutorials-NYC.
"I started teaching dance at 15 years old at my local studio, and private coaching young dancers while I was a UCLA student and LA Laker Girl.
A year after I was hired as a Rockette in 2001, I started sharing my knowledge of precision dance with others who were interested in auditioning for the Radio City Rockettes, and have not stopped since then. I worked as a professional dancer for 17 years, bi-coastal for 6 of those years, and officially called myself a New Yorker in 2006 when I decided Ripley-Grier Studios would be my favorite place to train the next generation of precision dancers.
Patricia and Butch have created such a unique space that Broadway artists across the globe have acknowledged as one of the best spaces for rehearsals, auditions, coaching, and more. The staff is always so supportive, loyal, and helpful. They have gone out of their way MANY, MANY times to make my dancers and me feel safe, comfortable, and well taken care of. I am indebted to them for their kindness and generosity on every level. They help my business to thrive in every way possible, and I can't thank them enough!!" - Rhonda Malkin
We are so inspired by you Rhonda, and lucky to be working with you on your incredible journey!

What a beautiful Summer we're having, a classic: warm, sunny, rainy, cool. We are having fun with family and friends with some traveling slipped in as well. We just returned from a wedding in San Diego at the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park, a great venue. We celebrated among the giraffes and rhinos in an outdoor covered lodge on a huge wildlife property. Afterwards, we drove up to Santa Monica and spent two evenings in one of our favorite hotels, Shutters on the Beach, with a view of the Santa Monica Pier. Next we flew to Denver, spent the night, then drove (Butch's favorite, a Mustang convertible) to Colorado Springs for lunch. After lunch, we meandered through the Wet Mountains to the Wet Mountain Valley where we have 100 acres of land. We had purchased it in 1990 when we were skiing a lot and planning to move out there. It's beautiful mountain country. Our land is in Westcliffe, a "Dark-Sky" community (pop. 500) that faces 14,000ft peaks, the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Then we drove to the Royal Gorge in Canon City where we white-water rafted many years ago with our son, Shayne. On the drive back to Denver we took a tour of the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, breathtaking.
Jeannie, our daughter, is out in California staying with a close friend and going to "21 Pilots" concerts and Major League baseball games in LA and San Francisco, visiting college mates.
We are looking forward to a super Fall season in New York: lots of friends and family visits. Butch just flew down to Key West to continue his VA medical therapies, they are so caring there. He will be back for Jeannie's 25th "Birth"day on 9/18. She has concerts and shows out of state in September, then some in-state in October. She will be starting full time in our Social Media / PR / Marketing Department. Yay, Jeannie, welcome aboard! (worked at RG since 14).
I am healing from a hamstring insertion injury in August as a result of shooting hoops with some of Jeannie's Albany relatives, so I have not been able to get in the ocean and boogie board for weeks. Eeek! So depressing, it was hard and so painful; I went to physical therapy, had massages and feel much better these days so I plan to go boogie boarding this week.
FYI, we have cool innovative programs starting this Summer/Fall at RG. Our RG Premiere Membership 2024 continues, adding more perks for loyal client/members, discounts, gifts, and privileges, (look out for "Golden Tickets"). We are also launching a new RG project: Classes with RG. Our first classes will be Yoga classes at RG 520, currently in the formative stages, (starting hopefully by October). In addition, Ripley-Grier Studios & Flexible Spaces will be hosting creative seminars and workshops. In October, RG will be associate producers of "Distant Thunder" - a transformative play produced by Lynne Taylor-Corbett and Amas Musical Theatre.
Advice: Get outside as much as you can. Clean and declutter your homes and enjoy the amazing time in our area that is Summer/Fall. Fresh air, friends, entertainment, involvement.
PS: Don't forget to support your political candidates and vote in November. It is your future.

Hi everyone!
I've had a busy last couple weeks. I went to San Diego for a friend's wedding at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. It was a quick trip so I could get back home and see Childish Gambino! I had only seen him once before at this small show at Little Island in NYC a couple months ago, so I finally got to see him perform songs I've loved for over 10 years when I saw him in Philly. I was able to get in the front row for part of the main stage and had one of the best concert experiences of my life. I ended up seeing him two more times that week, including his concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn the night before I left to go to LA. My flight was at 5:15am the day of the first Twenty One Pilots concert and I got to LA around 8am, so my friend Rayleene met me on the line for the concert so we could get wristbands reserving our place in line and allowing us to leave for the day before lining back up in numbered order later on. We dressed up and matched together and had a great time at the concert! We were able to get really close to the stage. I went again to their next concert in LA and me some other friends there. I was so happy to see my favorite band again and I'm excited to see them a few more times when they tour the northeast this month.
Until next time, Jeannie
