27th Annual Turkey Shoot Basketball Contest

Saturday, November 18th

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Ages 4 - 13 (Plus a Parent/Guardian)

Child and guardian teams will compete in a basketball foul shooting contest for a chance to win a $25 gift card to purchase a Thanksgiving turkey, along with other great door prizes! Time slots are broken down by age. This event is Free but requires Pre-Registration.  Learn More or Register

Scuba Santa will be making a very special appearance this holiday season! Choose a 15 minute window where in that time frame you will have a 5-minute session underwater photo with Scuba Santa! This event is FREE with the donation of one, unwrapped gift per family to benefit our Youth and Community Services Annual Holiday Gift Giving Program Toy Drive. Donations will be distributed to those in need within the Bristol community. Learn More

Co-Ed Flag Football

Ages 8-12

October 4th - November 22nd

Chippens Hill Middle School - Gymnasium

Participants will be introduced to the game of football while utilizing flags. Players will work on basic football skills such as passing, catching, offense and defense in a safe and fun environment. Each week, new teams will be formed to give players a chance to socialize with everyone in the program. Learn More

Sims Road Entrance

Join us for the grand opening celebration of Kern Park! A ceremonial ribbon cutting will be head at the Sims Road entrance (parking available at 160 Ivy Drive) and will be followed by a tour of the park. New improvements include trail restoration, new trail system, educational signage and markers, reclaimed green space with pollinator gardens, and more. Kern Park was fully funded by the American Rescue Plan. Learn More

Bristol named Finalist for 2024 National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management 

For the third year in a row, Bristol was selected as a finalist for the 2024 National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management! The National Gold Medal Award is administered by the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration (AARPA), in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association and is the nation's highest honor for park and recreation agencies.

As a finalist, Bristol is recognized as one of the top four agencies in the country serving populations 35,000 - 70,000 and will compete for the Grand Plaque Award to be announced in October at the 2024 NRPA Annual Conference in Atlanta, GA. In advance of October’s Award ceremony, BPRYCS created a 5-minute video highlighting the department’s core services and values. Read More
