We are into our first week of Advent and things are going well. It is unbelievable that we only have eleven days of school before Christmas break!
JESSE TREE - ADVENT WEEK 2:
During this week we meet six more people or events that happened in Salvation History;
Joseph and his coat of many colors
Gen. 37:23-28, 45:1-15
This is one of my favorite stories in the Old Testament. It shows how God can take bad circumstances and use them for good in His plan. Who could have guessed that Joseph being sold into slavery would be a good thing?
Moses and the burning bush
- Exodus 3:1-10
This shows that God can take someone who sees himself (or herself) as unworthy and give him the resources he needs to do the job he is asked to do.
Israelites and the Passover
- Exodus 12:1-28
This story shows the power of God in the lives of people who believe in Him.
- Exodus 20:1-17
By giving us the 10 Commandments God gives us the way to live a full life. These are not rules to be feared but guidelines to make us happy.
Joshua and the battle of Jericho
- Joshua 5:13-15, 6:1-20
This is a wonderful story of trusting God to keep his promises.
- 1:1-19, 2:1-20, 4:13-18
What a love story! It is a good read.
