FROM THE DESK OF MS. BRESLER...
Dear Parents,

At Mass yesterday, Fr. Del preached on faith being a commitment, not a feeling.  He told the students about a time when he was in middle school when he explained to his dad that he just didn't feel like going to church that Sunday.  His dad explained that, just because you don't feel like going to church doesn't mean you don't go.  Faith is not about feeling, it is about commitment.

We would not follow this line of thinking (only when I feel like it) when it came to practicing for sports, working out, going to work, doing homework, or your relationships with family and friends.  We go the extra mile, even if we don't feel like it because we made a commitment to our husband or wife, friends, or kids, teammates, and ourselves.  Shouldn't our commitment to God be as important as our one to a basketball or volleyball team?  So, will you be at Mass this weekend?

EARLY BIRD DRAWING:
It is not too late...you have until tomorrow to get your tuition payment in full to the parish office to be entered into the Early Bird drawing for tuition reimbursement up to $3,000.  There will be three names drawn on March 2 at the Parish Council meeting.  Each family can have up to three entries, if they have three children enrolled.  Remember the school is closed tomorrow, but you can drop your payment off at the parish offices which opens at 8:30 in the morning and closes at 4:30.

CHURCH TOUR:
On Wednesday, February 12 th , Fr. Del gave our parish First Communicants a tour of our parish church.  The students were able to go into the sanctuary and see the altar, ambo, baptismal font, and crucifix up close.  Did you know the altar, ambo, holy water fonts are all made in the shape of a cross?
We visited the Eucharistic Chapel and saw the consecrated hosts in the tabernacle and how the red candle in the Chapel lets us know that God is present.  We looked at the statues of Mary and St. Veronica and at the Stations of the Cross along the walls.  We ended the tour by stopping at the Exit sign, where Fr. Del explained that we need to take our faith and live it outside of the church building, not just during Mass on the weekends.  Click Here to see pictures of the tour.

COME CHEER ON OUR 8TH GRADERS!!

EVERYBODY COUNTS
Friday, February 21, 2020

Everybody Counts is a program run by parent volunteers to teach our children about various disabilities and how children with these challenges cope with them.  Our goal is to foster understanding and create a climate in which we all feel at ease with one another's differences.
All class sessions are approximately 60 min in length.  All information is provided in an easy to use format.  Please help make this program successful by volunteering your time! All volunteers must be Virtus trained.

Honk, Jr. will be here before we know it!  The Fine Arts Boosters will once again offer pre-orders for tickets, keepsake pins, souvenir programs, and theater grams.
The Fine Arts Boosters is offering the opportunity to purchase ad space in their colorful Souvenir Program.  Click below for ordering instructions.  Don't miss this chance to wish a special performer or backstage crew member good luck!

2020 Festival News

Did you know that your students can earn service hours at the festival? We have many opportunities:
  • Sunday dinner tray carriers, beverage runners and table bussers
  • Festival week set up
  • Festival clean up during the festival and on Saturday and Sunday morning
  • Festival clean-up Monday
  • Working one of the kids games
ADOPT A BOOTH
We have several booths who need captains. This week's spotlight is the Bid and Buy. The captain of this booth will assist in gathering donations, display the donations, set up the bidding information and collect the money when Bid and Buy closes. This booth has the potential to be a HUGE money maker for St. V. Parishes with great bid and buy booths usually have a group of volunteers who are creative and talented. Who can get a group of friends together to make the St. Veronica Festival Bid and Buy the best of the east?
