Greetings! Happy New Year!

This is a 2024 January / February Newsletter: our "Winter" Edition...

We are in a number 8 year: (2024=8). It is the luckiest number in Chinese philosophical consciousness. Starting at the beginning of February, it will be the Year of the Dragon. If you want to absorb some philosophical wisdom take a look at Chinese astrology to get the "forecast of the year". If you are a dragon (based on your birth year), it will be a very auspicious year. There are different types of dragons ie: Water Dragons, Earth Dragons, etc.. so check it out!

Of course we have all considered making [or have made] New Year's resolutions, and more than 50% of them have to do with our exercise routines and eating and drinking habits. Always a good time to set reasonable goals. Don't say "I'm going to lose 20 pounds in a month" as your subconscious will immediately reject that. There are several methods to make friends with your subconscious so that it doesn't sabotage you while trying to protect you. Always good to have balance within yourself.

My New Year's advice is - Value your friends, your family and your coworkers: do your best to keep those relationships harmonious. Educate yourself on all the newest trends. Stay hip. Be informed.

Keep in mind this is an election year.. choose wisely!! Recycle and respect other sentient beings that inhabit the Earth. Do not waste food, water or resources.. there are plenty of other creatures who need them.

Love and respect yourself.. so do things in moderation, but go for it when you need to. Explore. Enjoy and appreciate Music and Art.

Your time is valuable - don't waste it on foolish people and foolish agendas. Be conscious that time is precious, that life is precious, this great lovely planet is precious. See you in the New Year!

Respectfully, Patricia

Happy New Year!

After years of not really following through with my resolutions (along with many others), I'm off to a great start with one of mine. My main goal is to go see Broadway shows as often as I can!

I finished off the year by seeing I Need That on Broadway (twice), and Some Like It Hot the day it closed. I Need That told a beautiful story with a limited set and cast. It was heartfelt with some hilarious comedy as well. I was in awe after seeing Some Like It Hot - the dancing, singing, the plot, the set - everything and everyone was amazing! I'm disappointed that it closed but was happy to find out the show is going on tour.

This year I've started off prioritizing shows that are either closing soon or have a cast member that I'd like to see before their final performance. The first show I saw this year was Spamalot so I could catch Taran Killam in it before his final show on Jan. 7th. I was so excited to see him after being a fan for so long and he was very nice to everyone at the stage door. I was also happy to see Nik Walker again after seeing him in Hamilton a couple years ago. The two of them along with everyone else in the cast was incredible and the show was hysterical! I'm looking forward to seeing it again now that Alex Brightman has taken Taran Killam's place. My next few shows in the coming weeks are Shucked, Sweeney Todd, Little Shop of Horrors, and Purlie Victorious.

Until next month, Jeannie
