Welcome to the William S. Hart District’s 7th annual College and Career Fair! 

This year, we are so excited to partner with College of the Canyons as our hosts and planning colleagues! With over 100 colleges, universities, trade schools, and educational partners, this fair provides diverse offerings to high school and college transfer students and families. We are so grateful to have such wonderful representation in Santa Clarita and we are thankful to our Corporate Sponsor, SteamWorks, for supporting our event!

Steamwork Center is a workspace and resource hub for entrepreneurs in the Santa Clarita Valley. They offer a variety of flexible space arrangements to people who need to host an event, lead a class, have a private client meeting or just a quiet desk for the day. Steamwork Center supports entrepreneurs and connect them to emerging talent in the Santa Clarita Valley from our local schools, colleges, returning graduates and experienced freelancers.

You are invited to attend the William S. Hart Union School District Career & College Readiness College and Career Fair, held in collaboration with College of the Canyons. The event will at College of the Canyons Valencia Campus, Honor Grove, on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 9:00 am to Noon.

Naviance Career and College Exploration Tool

Naviance is a Career and College Readiness partner providing students with college planning and career assessment tools. The feature includes college research and matching tools, course planning, career assessment, personality tests, and surveys to help students connect what they are doing in school to what they would like to do once they complete their education. 

Naviance also integrates with "The Common Application" platform used for the submission of college applications, as well as online submission of transcripts, school forms, and recommendations.

The University of California, Irvine, is a public research University located in Irvine, California, United States, and one of the 10 campuses in the University of California system.  Let us not forget their Mascot, the Anteater, was voted best College Mascot in 2015!

College of the Canyons, COC, is a public two-year Community College operating two campuses in our hometown of Santa Clarita providing a wide range of educational opportunities including certificate and degree options, preparation for transfer to a four year institution, a special admissions program for high school juniors and seniors and much more! COC will be presenting many of their academic programs, and information on the First Year Promise and College Now! programs at the College Fair. Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ is a public research University ranked #1 in the U.S. for innovation, dedicated to accessibility and excellence. It is also one of the largest United States Universities by enrollment.

Biola University is a private, Evangelical Christian University and is located approximately 16 miles from downtown Los Angeles, in La Mirada, California. Founded in 1908, the University has over 40 major academic fields of study in six schools.

Drake Walker, 2016 West Ranch High School Alumni, gives a 'Shout Out' for the College Fair while he is attending the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

Drake was a Business Career Pathway Award recipient and two time winner of the prestigious Wharton International Financial Investment Competition.
Sam Hassanzadeh, 2016 West Ranch High School Alumni, gives another 'Shout Out' for the College Fair while attending the University of California, Irvine.

Green STEM Summit
November 4, 2017
You are invited to participate in the Green STEM Summit organized by the Santa Clarita Environmental Education Consortium (SCEEC). High school (grades 9 – 12) and community college students will learn to chart their green career pathway through an exciting and interactive speed mentoring format where students speak with dozens of environmental and sustainability professionals from industry, government and academia.

Attend the Advanced Technology/Product Development Careers Speaker Panel

SPEAKERS & ACTIVITIES ON ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY CAREERS FOR STUDENTS
Students, parents and the public are invited to attend a speaker panel and displays on careers in advanced technologies on Thursday, October 12, from 6 – 8 pm at the Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons (COC). This event highlights  “Careers in the Making… design, engineering, fabrication, and more…”  Admission and parking are free, but reserve seats are required at  www.scvedc.org/mfgday .

Celebrity host  Titan Gilroy  will be the keynote speaker. Gilroy is the owner of TITANS of CNC, an elite aerospace CNC Machine shop in Northern California, and the  Executive Producer and Star of the television series, TITANS of CNC ( formerly TITAN American Built). Representatives from local advanced technology companies will discuss career paths in manufacturing and advanced technologies, along with displays and activities explaining opportunities in design, engineering, fabrication, robotics, and distribution.
