Dear Friends,

As 2017 comes to an end, I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to the entire REACH Prep community for allowing us to provide unparalleled educational access and transformative opportunities to 250 Scholars and over 125 Alumni this year. We could not accomplish this work without our supportive families, independent school partners, Alumni, Board of Directors, staff and generous donors. We are grateful for your belief in our mission and continued support of our talented Scholars.

We hope you enjoy this issue of our newsletter which highlights some of our favorite moments of the past quarter. We would like to wish all of you a wonderful holiday season and best wishes for a very Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you in 2018.

Warm wishes,
Gina Lucas

REACH Prep's NYC Fundraiser a Success!

We held our inaugural NYC fundraiser,   An Evening in the Park on November 1 at Bryant Park Grill. With over 130 people in attendance, we are proud to report that we raised $250,000 to support REACH Prep's robust programming and sustained guidance for our Scholars from fourth grade admission through college graduation. We were thrilled to welcome back Joshua Terry, RP Cohort 12, Hackley School '13 and Tufts University '17, as our Alumni speaker. In addition, we heard from our fabulous young M.C., Zoe V. from RP Cohort 24 and a special performance from The Baker's Dozen of Yale University with REACH Prep's very own Leo Gomez, RP Cohort 14, Rye Country Day School '15 and Yale '19.

Senior Success: REACH Prep Scholars Accepted to Competitive "Fly-in" Programs

Although our seniors are still working hard to complete their college applications, we would like to take a moment to celebrate some of the amazing college opportunities many of our seniors have already received. Throughout this summer REACH Prep's seniors applied to many competitive college visitation programs, otherwise known as "fly-in programs" or "diversity programs". These selective programs pay for high-achieving high school seniors...
Members of RP Cohort 23 Star in "A Midsummer Night's Dream"

In their first year at Riverdale Country School, sixth graders and RP Cohort 23 members, Emily P. and Mikayla P. boldly jumped at the opportunity to try out their performing skills in the middle school performance of "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Mikayla accepted the challenge of two separate roles, "Flute" and a fairy; while Emily put her own spin on the famed character of "Puck"...
REACH Prep's Junior Council Sponsors 2017 College Care Packages

REACH Prep delivered care packages to 45 of our college students and 4 of our boarding school students to offer motivation and fuel for their finals this semester. REACH Prep's Junior Council generously underwrote this initiative through personal donations and fundraising efforts. The project culminated with an evening gathering to organize, assemble and send the packages at the home of lead organizer, Sara Bartow. A big thank you to our Junior Council Members for their hard work and leadership to execute this project seamlessly. We appreciate your work, and I know our college students do too!

If you are interested in joining REACH Prep's Junior Council, email us at development@reachprep.org.
