Two More CME Sessions for Fall Conference

  • Mind Matters: We Have A Diagnosis. What Now? - Chloe Kilman, MD, FAAFP

This session will offer a practical overview of treatment options, available support services, and key planning considerations to help individuals and families prepare for the road ahead after an Alzheimer's or dementia diagnosis.

  • What Keeps You Up at Night?

No lectures. No slides. Just real conversations. Our panel of family physicians will tackle the issues that weigh on them most— from caring for complex patients and navigating the healthcare system to supporting their teams, balancing work and life, and preparing for what’s next. Join and engage in the honest conversations with your peers.

Product Theater Added to the Agenda!

We’ve added a Product Theater to the lineup: AUVELITY® for the Treatment of Agitation Associated with Dementia due to Alzheimer’s Disease.

Join Nathan Johnston, MD, nationally recognized leader in Interventional Psychiatry and CEO & Founder of Phoenix Mental Health, for a discussion exploring this treatment option and the evolving landscape of psychiatric care.

This product theater is provided by Axsome Therapeutics.

Exhibit Hall Theme

Since our Fall Conference falls on Halloween, we decided to bring the spooky fun straight into the Exhibit Hall! This year, we’re transforming our exhibit hall into the “Boo-levard of Exhibitors”—a festive, Halloween-inspired destination where networking, learning, and a little friendly competition come together.

MAFP Welcomes New Members!

We're excited to welcome these new members and transfer members to the MAFP. If you notice someone in your area, reach out and give them a big MAFP Welcome and help us share how they can get involved.

Public Awareness

Help Us Celebrate Family Medicine Week 2026!

September 27–October 3 is Family Medicine Week! This is a time to celebrate the physicians who care for individuals and families at every stage of life — and to recognize the lasting impact family physicians make both inside and outside the clinic.

This year, the Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians is shining a spotlight on the many ways our members are "More Than a Doctor."

What does being a family physician look like beyond the exam room?

Maybe you coach your child's baseball team.

Maybe you volunteer with a local organization.

Maybe you teach students or mentor the next generation of physicians.

Maybe you're a team doctor, serve in your church or community, support a local cause, or lend your time and talents wherever you're needed.

Whatever it looks like, we want to share it! Throughout Family Medicine Week, MAFP will be featuring our members and sharing the stories that demonstrate just how much family physicians contribute to the communities they serve.

Have a story to share? Reach out to Blake Butler at publicawareness@msafp.org or call 601-853-3302.

Dermatology Pearls for Primary Care

Their collaboration with University at Sea allowed us to develop a program aimed at the needs of Family Physicians in a family-friendly, “fun” environment.  All CME programming occurs while the ship is at sea.
