Why did you join MAFP?
I joined MAFP because it is one of the most supportive and cohesive state organizations, uniting family physicians and providing resources where they are needed most. Since my residency, the Academy has provided an uplifting and inspiring community that empowers physicians to grow not only as clinicians but also as leaders. Through MAFP, I’ve had the opportunity to engage in leadership development and advocacy training that has been invaluable in shaping my career.
MAFP, in collaboration with the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), has played a vital role in educating and equipping physicians to be effective leaders in healthcare policy, both at the state and national levels. From participating in the National Conference of Constituency Leaders (NCCL) to serving on the MAFP Board of Directors, I’ve experienced firsthand how the organization encourages physicians to use their voices to influence the future of family medicine. That commitment to leadership and advocacy is one of the biggest reasons I remain proud to be part of MAFP.
