2nd Annual Women's History Month: REALTORS® Across All Generations At GBR Headquarters Last Week!

GBR's Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Committee celebrated Women's History Month with their second annual Women's History Month: REALTORS® Across All Generations

at GBR headquarters last week. After an elegant champagne toast to all the hardworking and successful women in the room, the event began with a few shared words from 2024 DEI Committee Chair, Andre Porter.

The event was a lively panel discussion among six speakers, including Phyllis Taylor, Jaye Keaney, Soo Yu, Dalia Flores, Sumaya Ali, and Simone Pietrunti, moderated by 2024 DEI Committee Vice Chair, Marian Sasson-Albornoz. The discussion was an opportunity for the speakers across generations, differing backgrounds, and years in the business to share stories and insights into their diverse experiences within the real estate industry.

The exciting afternoon closed with special guest speaker, Allegra House, the State President of the Women's Council of REALTORS® New Jersey, followed by an inspiring message from GBR's 2024 President, Lisa Comito.

New Flood History Disclosure Requirements

Starting March 20, 2024 there are new mandatory flood history disclosure requirements for all sellers and certain landlords. This includes new questions on the seller's property condition disclosure statement, a new rental flood risk notice, and the release of an updated flood mapping tool.

New Jersey REALTORS®contract of sale, lease, seller's property condition disclosure statement, and the new flood risk notice are now updated on zipForm to comply with these requirements.

Existing-Home Sales Vaulted 9.5% in February,

Largest Monthly Increase in a Year

Key Highlights:

Existing-home sales surged 9.5% in February to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.38 million, the largest monthly increase since February 2023.
Sales declined 3.3% from the previous year.
The median existing-home sales price elevated 5.7% from February 2023 to $384,500 – the eighth consecutive month of year-over-year price gains.
The inventory of unsold existing homes increased 5.9% from one month ago to 1.07 million at the end of February, or the equivalent of 2.9 months' supply at the current monthly sales pace.
