We are thrilled to announce that the New Mexico Public Education Department has partnered with Paper to provide free 24/7 access to academic support for all of your PreK-8 students. There’s a lot to be excited about with Paper’s Educational Support System, including:

• 1:1 live-chat tutoring sessions with subject-matter experts in over 200 subjects and four different languages.
• Interactive shows and activities to expand student learning in and out of the classroom.
• Expert review on any written work (essays, creative writing, poetry, lab reports, etc.)
• Hundreds of resources to enable and engage your community with Paper.
• And so much more!

To help your students with direct, evidence-based support in Algebra I the PED is providing a free online Algebra 1 High-Dosage Tutoring program. Sessions start Jan. 9 and are offered 4-9 p.m. on weekdays and/or 9 a.m.-noon on weekends. Registration is open.

Parents and guardians can use the Absence Request tool to submit a request that informs your child’s school’s attendance office in advance when their student is not going to be in school. After the request is processed, Campus creates an attendance record for the student.

Please see the attached guide on how to submit an absence request. If you do not already have a parent portal (Campus Parent) account, please contact your child’s school for assistance on creating one.

Each week, students are nominated by teachers for our PAWsitivity Award. Students are nominated based on leadership, willingness to help others, and being a positive role model.

One staff member is also nominated by leadership each week.

DIS Cheerleaders performed at our Behavior Celebration on December 15. The squad put in a lot of work and practice during our After School Program to be ready to show their dance, cheer, and stunts to the student body.
