KNP Konnections

From Our Editor, Nancy Allenby

Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us -- Hal Borland As the snow begins and we head into winter's short days, we have much goodness to reflect on AND we're excited to move forward in new ways through what we have learned. We extend hearty holiday wishes to the volunteers, donors and community partners that enable KNP neighbors to help neighbors throughout the year!

Window Dressers Community Build

KEARSARGE CLIMATE ACTION AND KNP partnered on the first Kearsarge Window Dressers Community Build Nov. 9-15 at St. Andrews Church in New London. A true community event, this amazing build brought together over one hundred volunteers to build 209 energy efficient custom interior window inserts for 29 families in Andover, Bradford, New London, Newbury, Sutton, Springfield, Sunapee, Warner, and Wilmot, who will have warmer homes this winter, save money and help the environment. Forty percent of recipients were able to receive inserts at lower cost due to financial hardship with a grant from the Grassroots Fund. Well done, all!

Carrot Gleaning Aid Food Security

THANKS TO OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH COLBY-SAWYER COLLEGE, we helped glean 1200 pounds of pounds of carrots on a sunny November 3rd in Spring Ledge Farm's fields. KNP volunteers joined students from Professor Ann Fournier's "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" class. Thanks to all who participated!
