MS Board of Medical Licensure Updates
on CME Reporting
| | |
With the announcement from the MS Board of Medical Licensure last week, we wanted to remind our members that in 2022, the MAFP worked with AAFP and the Mississippi Board of Medical Licensure to provide a time-saving member benefit to you. When you report your CME to AAFP, they will automatically share any AAFP or MAFP produced CME credits with CE Broker who serves as a tracking agent for the MSBML.
It appears that under the new rules, members will have three options to remain compliant:
1. Maintain Board Certification
Members who maintain active board certification would meet the requirement.
2. Complete 40 Hours of AAFP/MAFP-Produced CME Every 2 Years
This would include:
- MAFP meetings
- AAFP meetings
- AFP and FPM journal quizzes
- Other AAFP educational offerings
These credits will automatically cross to CE Broker and satisfy the requirement.
3. Manually Report CME to CE Broker
Members may also manually report enough CME to CE Broker to reach the required 40 total hours.

Is there a family medicine issue that concerns you? Do you have a colleague who needs recognition? Consider writing a resolution!
All Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians members are invited to write and submit resolutions for consideration at the MAFP Business Meeting held on the Tuesday during the MAFP Annual Scientific Assembly. Submissions are due June 15th.
Writing and presenting resolutions is a great opportunity to direct MAFP policy and address issues of interest or concern to family physicians and family medicine. In addition, resolutions can honor outstanding achievement or memorialize deceased family physician leaders.
