She is married, has 2 children, 4 grandchildren and 2 beautiful great grandchildren. An avid traveler, she has traveled to over 40 countries and all but two (2) continents — something she plans on changing in the near future…well, maybe not Antarctica right now.

In her late teens, Mel was a former beauty queen and carnival queen in England. In additional to her day job, Mel is the executive director of The Caribbean Cultural Coalition, a 501c3 non-profit organization whose goal is to provide goods and services to the most vulnerable members of the Caribbean community both here and back home in St. Kitts and Nevis.
