Greater Bergen REALTORS® And The REALTORS Care Foundation® High School Scholarship Program Is Now Accepting Applications

Greater Bergen REALTORS® is a not-for-profit trade organization that serves over 8,800 REALTOR® members throughout Northern New Jersey. Greater Bergen REALTORS® Care Foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that provides grants to organizations from donations received by its REALTORS and the New Jersey Multiple Listing Service (NJMLS). The amount of scholarship is $700 for each school.

The Greater Bergen REALTORS® High School Scholarship Program is now accepting applications for high school seniors. GBR offers this scholarship to public high school districts within its jurisdiction.

Fill out the application and email all supporting documents to: to Education@GreaterBergenRealtors.com by the application deadline of April 15, 2024.

GBR's Community Service Committee Participates In The Center For Food Action (CFA) Fifth Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Of Service Weekend Snack Pack Event

Yesterday, on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2024, Greater Bergen REALTORS® Community Service Committee volunteer members participated in the Center For Food Action (CFA) fifth annual MLK Day of Service Weekend Snack Pack event.

Over 200 people gathered at the Community Baptist Church in Englewood, NJ, dedicating their time to packing 2,000 snack packs for children and families in need in our local communities.

CFA’s Weekend Snack Packs are discreetly placed in student backpacks in over 11 municipalities in Bergen County, including various schools, after-school programs, and public libraries, to bridge the hunger gap.

I have been working in the real estate industry for over 30 years, licensed for 18 of them, and I’ve learned through the ups and downs of the market that we must support one another. As a managing broker, serving and supporting my agents gave me such happiness, and the ability to assist agents in helping New Jerseyans achieve homeownership moved me. Not only did I want to give back, but I needed to give back.

Kevin Sears Steps Into Role as NAR President

The National Association of REALTORS® announced last week that Kevin Sears has stepped into the role of NAR president following the resignation of 2024 President Tracy Kasper. As a 30-year real estate veteran from Springfield, Mass., Sears is the broker-owner of Sears Real Estate and specializes in single-family brokerage and property management.

“I remain focused on working with NAR Interim CEO Nykia Wright and NAR’s dedicated staff to continue our critical efforts in supporting our members’ small businesses as they deliver value to their clients, strengthen their communities and promote real property rights for all,” Sears says.

NAR Global connects you to a network of qualified REALTORS®, provides education to help you work with international clients, and delivers the business tools to help you globalize your business.

To earn your CIPS designation, you will need to complete two core courses, three elective courses, and submit your designation application demonstrating 100 points of international experience.

Courses are available either online or in the classroom and are valid for 3 years. Any courses completed more than 3 years prior to the submission of your application must be retaken to receive credit towards the education requirement of the designation.

The path to earn your CIPS designation is customized for U.S REALTORS®, International REALTORS®, and Association Executives.
