Celebrating 50 Years of Service!
Fifty years ago, Ruth and John Mallery understood the importance of ensuring that youth in our community have a safe, fun and positive place to go when out of school. They turned this conviction into action - funding and building the Boys Club of Santa Cruz. In 1990, our doors were opened to girls. To reflect this change, we became the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Cruz.
Since 1969, over 30,000 youth have been active members of the Club and most of them for three years or more. This past year alone, our Clubs served an all-time high of 2,600 youth members with over 360 youth walking in our doors after school each day.
The past several years have seen significant growth in our organization. First, in 2016 we opened a new Clubhouse in Live Oak on the grounds of Shoreline Middle School. The partnership with Live Oak School District (LOSD) has been nothing short of phenomenal! Our Club staff participate as aides in classrooms throughout the district and support school staff at Shoreline every day. LOSD supplies snacks and meals for our members every day throughout the year and during the summer. We also provide adult supervision, escorting the kids from nearby schools to the Clubhouse via our "Walking Bus" program every day after school.
In 2018, we were at it again, as we partnered with Boys & Girls Club of the Valleys to open the Joe & Linda Aliberti Clubhouse in Scotts Valley. We thank Joe & Linda for their total commitment to making this Clubhouse a reality and are excited to make it our third facility serving youth in Santa Cruz County. In less than one year, over 300 youth became members and we are already busting at the seams in our daily attendance.
We are extremely proud of these accomplishments and thankful to all the past and current Board Members and volunteers and the thousands of community members who helped to make sure that youth in Santa Cruz County are provided the opportunity to realize their 'Great Future' possibilities!
For the kids,
Bob Langseth, Executive Director

7:30 am to 6:00 pm
Daily Drop in Camp $15 day/child
or $65 week/child
Friends galore, activities abound, weekly Thursday field trips scheduled, and Friday Special activities keep the kids busy and laughing! Age-appropriate groups rotate through all the offerings at the Club, ensuring each receives a fulfilling, well-rounded day, with sports, arts, chill-out time, snacks, swimming (every day Downtown, Tuesdays at Live Oak), games, and friendships.
Similar to our after school program,
our summer day camp is drop-in. Current members can come for any of the days and spend as much or as little time at the Club as they/their parents want and are not required to register for specific days in advance. However, early registration and pre-payment does speed up the front desk check-in time and some of the popular special programs have limited space.
