We had a wonderful end of the school year this week. Field Day on Tuesday was a huge success! We had plenty of volunteers on hand (it was great to see everyone in the building again). The Holy Name Society was here to grill hotdogs for the entire school. Fortunately, the weather cooperated so everything ran really well. In talking with the students the "corn toss" and the "scoop the poop" were the highlights of the day. Many thanks to all the volunteers and to Mrs. Dumford and her team, who planned such a great day!
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR GRADUATES!:
We were so happy we could include up to six people per graduate to our graduation ceremony. It was wonderful to see everyone gathered together to celebrate our students. I have enjoyed getting to know these students over the course of the last seven years. Even though I was not in the classroom with them everyday, I will miss them and their student leadership in the school. I know God has plans for each of them and they will all do well as they chase their passion in the coming years.
ART MENGES SCHOLARSHIP:
This year we had ten sixth and seventh grade students apply for this scholarship. All the applications were wonderful and it was very hard to choose a winner. In the end, we took the names off the entries and had the middle school teachers vote on the best paragraph. We congratulate Kaitlyn McConnell for her love and use of technology, and her Christian character and her compassion for service to others.
Several teachers piloted Moby Max in their classrooms to help bridge the gap caused by COVID. Students are reinforcing learned skills and even learning new skills. St. Veronica has purchased Moby Max for over the summer and next year. Your student(s) can use this from home, too. All they need to do is log in using their name and password (this should have been given to them by their teachers).
IOWA TEST SCORES:
The IOWA test scores are in and they will be going out with report cards next week. I apologize, but we could just not get them ready in time to send them home with the students. Included with the test results will be a letter explaining how to interpret the IOWA and CoGat scores if your child is in grade 2 or 5.
As always, if you have any questions or would like to see your child's answer sheet, please contact the office and I will let you know when they come in. You will need to come to the school to review them as I cannot let any test materials out of the school building.
