|FROM THE DESK OF MS. BRESLER... |
With the increase in Covid-19 cases and the feeling that the cases are coming closer and closer to school, we have decided to do all Parent/Teacher conferences virtually this year, using Zoom. Some teachers may share student work with you by making copies and sending them home so you can look at the same information as you are talking during the conference. Be on the look out, next week, for a sign-up genius to schedule a virtual meeting with your child's teacher.
While we will not be having a Halloween parade or dressing up in costumes this year, Friday, October 30th is an "Out of Uniform" day for all the students who earned it through the Walk-A-Thon. However, if you did not earn it or did not participate in the Walk-A-Thon, you can still wear a festive Halloween top (school appropriate) with uniform bottoms.
Please know that if you are dropping off your older student you should be using the car line in the back of the school. However, if you also have a Preschooler or Kindergartener, they may come to the front door by the preschool room to get their temperature checked and enter the building. There is a lot more traffic in the front of the building so students must be walked to the front walk of the school. Also, only busses may use the circle in front of the church (flagpole). Cars are not permitted to use that area to drop off students at any time.
Please also be aware that if your student(s) is late (after 8:10 am) they need to enter through the school office and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to sign them in. Students cannot enter the building after the school day starts by themselves.
As cars begin to gather at the end of the day to pick up students in the back of school, it is very important that drivers follow the directions of the school personnel who are directing the traffic flow. We always need to leave a space so cars exiting the back lot have a way to exit, or else no one will be able to exit. If the barricade is up, please do not go around other cars that are doing the right thing and waiting patiently for the barricade to be moved. This is a very smooth process if everyone follows the directions.
PTO could really use your help. November 2nd is the due date to turn in the first group of Boxtops for this year. This is a really important date because this is the last turn-in date that will allow the actual "cut" Boxtops. After Nov 2, all hard copy Boxtops will expire. So, if you have a pile of Boxtops that you have not turned in NOW IS THE TIME! So search through your cupboards, call all your relatives and gather all the Boxtops you can.
Place them in a baggie labeled with your child's name and homeroom and send them into school. The committee will make sure the Boxtops are credited to your child in the next incentive period.
REMEMBERANCE OF THOSE WHO HAD DIED:
All Souls' Day, Monday, November 2, will be celebrated at St. Veronica at a 7:00 pm service. Each member of the parish who died over the past year will be remembered with a lit candle. The names of the dead will be read and family members can take home the candle of their loved one at the end of the service.
MAKE UP DAY
The photos have not arrived from production. We will post a new date soon!
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Due to Covid -19 and social distancing, we will not have our annual Veterans Day Prayer Service and breakfast. We will however, continue to honor our Veterans, with the Veterans Wall of Honor. The wall consists of military photos, sent in from our parish and school families, of their special family members who have served or currently serve our country. We have saved all the photos from the previous years. Any new photos sent in will be copied and returned to you. Please put the person's name and branch of the military they served in, and please remember to put your name and where to return the photos. The photos may be sent to the parish office or the school office by November 6, 2020. Pictures can also be sent via e-mail to Jbetz@stveronica.org

Dear St. Veronica Families,
On behalf of the PTO, we would like to thank everyone who donated, volunteered, or helped out with the 2020 Walk - A - Thon. We couldn't have done it without you! In just 4 weeks, you helped us to raise $32,257.50 for the school! Because of all of you, this fundraising event was a huge success, and the students had a wonderful day too! We were truly blessed!
Thank you again!
