Same Mission, New Path

We are so excited about the opportunity in front of us for Cypress View to serve foster children in a community of safe, loving, Christ-centered homes!

We believe that the Lord closed the door to a residential campus in Dunn for a reason, and we continue to trust His guidance us as we walk forward faithfully.

Our vision has always been to combine the strengths of family foster care with the support and community of residential care. Until now, we approached that vision from the residential side. Our new direction simply shifts the lens, allowing us to pursue the same mission and goals through family foster care.

Here is a bullet point summary:

  • Cypress View will create an intentional, integrated foster care community.
Christian foster families will live near one another, in homes provided by Cypress View.

  • Foster children and families are surrounded with holistic support.
This includes practical, financial, emotional, spiritual, and relational support tailored to the needs of each foster family and the children in their care, and a dedicated staff member living nearby for additional organizational support.

  • Removing barriers opens more homes to children who need them.
Many families feel called to foster but face practical challenges that make it difficult to say “yes.” By providing homes and wraparound support, Cypress View can make fostering possible for more families so that more foster children have the opportunity to live in a safe, loving home.

  • Supported foster families remain in their calling longer.
By cultivating community, reducing isolation, and providing meaningful support, Cypress View can help families navigate the challenges of fostering and persevere in their calling, creating greater stability and continuity for the children in their care.

  • Siblings can remain close even when they cannot share a home.
Sibling groups can live in close proximity to one another, allowing them to maintain regular, meaningful relationships.

  • Foster children remain connected to their broader communities.
Children grow up in stable families within their communities without feeling isolated, yet still having relationships with other children in foster care who may understand and share some of their experiences.

  • Cypress View can serve children in safe, loving homes sooner than we planned.
This approach allows Cypress View to begin serving children sooner while preserving the quality and depth of care at the heart of our vision. There are children right now waiting for safe homes, and that time matters.

  • More resources can go directly toward foster children and families.

With fewer administrative, staffing, and regulatory burdens than a licensed residential campus, this approach is significantly more cost-effective, allowing Cypress View to devote more time, resources, and expertise to supporting foster families and caring well for the children in our homes.

  • Experienced guidance is helping us shape our plans.
Big Oak Ranch is creating foster care communities through this same model in Alabama, and we are grateful to have their mentorship and support.

Together, We Keep Moving Forward

As we continue faithfully moving forward, we ask that you would continue to pray for Cypress View. What a wonder and gift it is that God invites us into His presence and welcomes us to bring our requests to Him, not as beggars, but as His beloved children.

We ask that you would pray for wisdom and discernment in our decisions, as well as courage, strength, faithfulness, endurance, and patience as we work diligently and trust the Lord to continue guiding each step. Please also pray that He will continue to provide the resources needed to take each next step.

If you have felt called to foster and would like to explore becoming part of a Cypress View foster care community, we would love to talk with you. Whether you are ready to take a next step or simply have questions, we welcome the opportunity to hear your story and begin that conversation.

There are many other ways to be part of this work, too. Your ideas, time, talents, and willingness to serve are gifts to this growing community. We will share specific volunteer opportunities in the coming months, but if something is already on your heart, please reach out. We would love to hear from you!

If you feel led to give financially, your one-time or monthly recurring gifts help us establish our first foster care community, plan for the future, and meet ongoing needs.

In the coming weeks, we will share more about our upcoming campaign and the needs and opportunities. You will also see a refreshed website and hear more from us on social media. In the meantime, our inbox is always open. If you have questions or would simply like to talk, we would be glad to connect. You can find our contact information at the bottom of this page.

We are grateful to walk this road with you and to be part of this community the Lord has brought together. Thank you for your prayers, your encouragement, and all of the ways you use your gifts to help carry this work forward.

Board Member Spotlight: Marleigh Zacek

Marleigh has been married to her husband, Russell, for 30 years.
They raised and homeschooled four beautiful children. All four are wonderful, hardworking, delightful people. Two are married, and Marleigh and Russ recently welcomed their first grandchildren!

Marleigh and Russ have attended Church Alive in Fuquay-Varina for the past 24 years, where they serve in Kids’ Ministry and Guest Experience.

Working as the Chief Nursing Officer at Betsy Johnson and Central Harnett Hospitals, Marleigh leads the nursing teams at both healthcare campuses as well as the surrounding clinics and services. She has worked for more than 30 years in emergency medicine and healthcare as a nurse, a manager, and an executive.

Marleigh brings her excellence, experience, and compassion to Cypress View. Having seen so many children through the years experiencing trauma, and also having a daughter-in-law who experienced the foster system, Marleigh wants to see every child have a loving home with caring adults to nurture and provide for them.
