Gosnell 15th Anniversary Campaign: YOU Made a Differnce

Last year we celebrated 15 years of Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. To mark the occasion, we launched a fundraising campaign to help us make building upgrades needed to maintain Gosnell's safe, modern, and healthy environment. Together, our community raised over $65,000 - an incredible investment in Gosnell's future. Your donations supported:

• Patient and family care
• Medication room renovations
• New nurse call button system
• Gardens, patio, and grounds improvements
• New bariatric chair for patient's room

We continue to be amazed and humbled by the generosity of our supporters and what we can accomplish together. Thank you for helping us safely provide one-of-a-kind care to patients and families at end of life.

Welcome New Board Member!

We are pleased to announce that Katherine Audet joined our Board of Directors in January. Katie is a lawyer at Brennan and Rogers, PLLC with a focus on estate planning. She helps her clients with all aspects of the estate planning process. She is also especially well-versed in the probate process and is actively involved in Medicaid planning and application matters. In her free time, Katie enjoys exploring walking trails, reading, and baking. Welcome, Katie!

New CNA & RN Tuition Reimbursement Program

There is an increasing demand for hospice care in Maine. To meet this demand, Hospice of Southern Maine must expand as well. With the support of a generous community foundation, we are now offering tuition reimbursement for candidates interested in becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant and working for Hospice for Southern Maine, as well as for current HSM employees who are CNAs pursuing their RN license. This program helps open career pathways for entering and advancing within healthcare.

Join us at our 12th annual Thresholds Conference on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. This year's educational conference provides information to caregivers, professionals, and anyone in the community on what to expect at the end of life. We are thrilled to announce our keynote speakers, author and podcaster Nora McInerny and licensed end-of-life counselor Dr. Martha Jo Atkins.

This year's conference will be presented in person at USM's Abromson Center in Portland and broadcast live for virtual attendees to watch from afar. Registration opening soon!
