MEDICARE SECTION
Projections for 2023
TALKING POINTS – WHAT’S TO COME (EXCERPTS TAKEN FROM ARTICLE):
“It is estimated that Social Security benefits may increase 9.6%, based on Consumer Price Index data”, released Wednesday (10th).
“There are still two months of data to go before the official COLA for next year is announced”.
“The Medicare trustees projected in their June annual report that the standard monthly premium for 2023 will stay the same, at $170.10 per month”.
“The Inflation Reduction Act, which just passed the Senate, seeks to curb those costs by capping annual out-of-pocket spending at $2,000 per year for Medicare Part D prescription drugs. That legislation has yet to be approved by the House and the president. The $2,000 cap is not slated to go into effect until 2025”.
“The Inflation Reduction Act just passed by the Senate will cap insulin at $35 per month for Medicare beneficiaries”.
“The maximum deductible for Part D coverage is projected to increase to $505 in 2023 from $480 this year”.
OK …. So we have about two months to go before the final numbers (mentioned in this article) are solidified, and will be published.
