"Here I am. Send me!"
Teachers for the leadership school!
The leadership school that is currently running out of YWAM Panama City consists of 7 students from 5 different countries. This school is designed to give the students tools to pioneer new ministries. I mentioned in my last newsletter that I have been auditing the classes. Throughout this last month I have learned so much about "Conflict Resolution" (Week 4 by Mike Breininger) and "Pastoral Care and Biblical Counsel" (Week 5 by Wayne Fife). Week 6 was taught by... Drum roll please... My big brother Jonathan David Schmidt (that good lookin' guy up there in the picture)! I didn't sit in on his teaching for the school but I got to hear him speak Wednesday night at Worship on not just knowing who God is and what He can do but remembering on a daily basis who He is and what He can do. It was truly a blessing to be able to see him after almost two years and how much he's grown. During his time here he gave me a snap to reality about really remembering who God is and knowing what I am called to do. He's an honest example of our family motto to, "Rightly representing Christ everywhere we go and to everyone we meet."
Recap of February...
Aside from sitting in on the leadership school classes during the week I started this month off with an epic medical mission. We went with an International Medical Relief (IMR) group of ten from four different countries along with three different YWAM groups from Costa Rica, Panama, and Brazil. Because we were doing medical work we passed it by the Panamanian government to clarify that we had all of the correct paperwork they also assigned SENAFRONT (Panamanian Border Patrol) to accompany us! We traveled by bus into the Darien Jungle until we reached a river and went to the village via canoe. Over the eight day trip we went to two different villages, Nuevo Vigia and Playona! As a group we brought dental, medical, and community education to the Embera people. We reached almost 800 people for regular check ups and community education. Around half of those 800 also received dental care and education. Aside from the medical aspect we got the chance to go into these villages and bring our joy of the Lord with us and love on the kids and learn about their culture and life style. I hope we were as much of a blessing as they ended up being to us! Being in the middle of their village and way of living as a tribe was an incredible experience.
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Hebrews 12:1-2

So recently I've been getting back into painting... I'm waiting to see what the Lord has me do with this gift He has given to me.

Financial Needs

As a full time missionary working with Youth With A Mission I do not receive a salary or income other than what God brings my way. There's no other way I would have it. Never once have I ever worried about finances for what I do and I know I won't ever have to doing what I am doing in missions. I have a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week dependence on God, not only for finances but for everything. It's quite invigorating. If you would like to support me or know more about this please contact me! (My contact information is at the bottom of this newsletter!) Thanks!

Get Involved!

Growing up with my family (2 parents and 9 kids) we have relied completely on God to provide finances and support for us through other people. Wherever we were, in the direct mission field or behind the scenes, God has always provided! Not once have I ever been worried or concerned about finances for something as simple as breakfast to now - without mommy and daddy - doing it for me communicating with friends and family about seeking monthly support and raising funds for my Discipleship Training School. I want to show you who I am and what my God does and how you can be apart of that through prayer and support.
