"Give Up Something Bad For Lent"

The new "Hopeful Vision" class will begin this Lenten study on Sunday, February 27th, in Room #209, upstairs in the Education Wing. We have preordered 10 of the books. If you would like to participate in this study, please contact the church office so that we can reserve a book for you.
Lenten Offering

Could you give $1 a day for a Lenten Mission Offering
that will help alleviate hunger in your community?
Lent Offering
It could come from something that you are giving up for Lent (ie: soda, coffee, dessert). Simply put that dollar in your Lenten Offering Box or Envelope. The 2022 Lenten offering will help support the GUMC Food Bank. Whatever you give will go to meet the needs of people; every cent. Invite your whole family to participate. What a great way to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord!

Lenten Offering Boxes and Envelopes are available at the information tables in the foyers. They will be collected on Easter Sunday, April 17th, but you are also welcome to give your Lenten gift online. (Text the word "LENT" to 479-777-0968, or visit our GUMC E-Giving page, select "special gifts" and "lent.")

Valentines Update

GUMC Kids worked hard to share God’s word and Gods love with our community for Valentine's Day. Almost 100 Valentines were handmade and delivered to places around Greenwood such as, Police Department, City Department, employees at Walgreens, nursing homes, our Library and more. Thank you for all those that jumped and board and helped spread the LOVE! (Pictures attached)
Sunday School

We are excited to walk through the Bible using “The Story.” Help children experience God’s great love by bringing his story to life! Based on the thirty-one chapters found in The Story for Children, engaging lessons are formatted around relatable Scripture references, memory verses, and Bible themes.
Children’s Church

This week we will be starting the new year with Bible Boot Camp. Soldiers train and train to find themselves ready for whatever situation they find themselves in. They start out in Basic Training, where they lay the foundation for their career as soldiers. We can use God’s word to help us train so that we can live for God. This series will teach kids 8 important Bible Basics to lay the foundation for a lifetime of faith.
