Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

It is my pleasure to personally introduce myself to each of you, in my new role as Principal. Many of you have known me in the capacity of teacher for some time, and for others, I sincerely look forward to getting to know you and your families. It has been a warm welcome so far, and I appreciate the support and kindness that has been shown to me since the announcement was made in June.

As a member of the OLG community for the past decade, I am an advocate for our mission and believe strongly in the importance of communication and building relationships that help us to grow and thrive. I care deeply about the success and growth of each individual within our learning environment, and work daily to support the needs of our teachers, students, and families. Working together with a growth mindset will be paramount to the success of your children and the school as well. I look forward to collaborating with you.

As I examine my role as Principal, a large part of my role is to help people be light, recognizing their own gifts and talents, and using them accordingly for the betterment of all. OLG is full of light, gifts and talents, in our students, our teachers, staff members, parents and alumni. When we put them all to use, OLG is a bright beacon in the greater community.

Moving into the 2023-24 school year, there are many wonderful things to be excited about, including a few staff changes, using the light of our teachers to the fullest. These changes were made with the best interest in mind for the community as a whole, and were announced earlier today to their prospective incoming homerooms. We are thrilled to share them with each of you now. Please read them in the section below.

Finally, please keep an eye out for news in early August about sign ups for “Meet Ms. Hobbs” opportunities prior to school beginning. For now, enjoy the summer with your families.

Keeping you all in my prayers and wishing you well all summer long.
Take care,

Lauren Hobbs
Staffing Changes
It is my pleasure share that Mr. Casey Loose will be moving from 5th grade, to be our new 8th grade teacher! His passion for student leadership, knowledge of the community, and of humanities, as well as his familiarity with the middle school students, makes him a fantastic fit for the role. To read more from Mr. Casey himself, click here. Congratulations, Mr. Casey

Mr. Jake Zwaller, originally announced in the spring for the Kindergarten role, will be moving into the 5th grade position! Mr. Z did his student teaching in 5th grade, and has a great deal of experience working with this age level. While he was delighted to take on the Kindergarten role, moving him into 5th grade better aligned with his zeal for the middle grades and with his expertise. To read more from Mr. Z himself, click here. Welcome, Mr. Z and congrats!

We are actively seeking a passionate, educated and qualified Kindergarten candidate. We are confident that we will find a person who believes in our mission as much as we do. We trust in the process, and in the Holy Spirit to guide the correct person to OLG. We know that our incoming kindergarten students will be in good hands with Mrs. Everett staying in her support role and with their new teacher, once hired. Please keep us in your prayers and send the job posting along to any candidates you may know. An update on our search will be shared later in the summer.
