A Message from Our Principal
On Wednesday we were honored to have Bishop Myron Cotta celebrate Mass at St. Bernard's. What a blessing it was to have the Shepherd of the Diocese of Stockton come and visit us! During the homily Bishop Cotta shared with us how he received the call to become Bishop, not once but twice. He explained the gifts he received and the items he wears. Everyone praised God in word and song. We gave him a model of our church as a token of our appreciation.
This week construction started to replace the roof over Father Fleming Hall. We hope the project will be completed before Fall Festival. In the meantime, the children are eating lunch in the small hall. The back grass area is off limits, so recess is taking place on the blacktop and we are using the preschool grass area for PE. We are taking precautions to keep the children and staff safe during school hours, while construction is happening. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ms. Paredes at
Remember: September 11, 2001
In remembrance of 9/11/2001 and to show love for our country, students may wear a patriotic (red, white, and blue) accessory on Wednesday. At Mass we will pray for those who lost their lives and their families, for peace in our country and in our world.

Student Achievement
St. Bernard's Catholic School is excited to announce that seven 8th graders have achieved the honor of being part of California Junior Scholarship Federation (CJSF) this semester. This top honor is reserved for students earning high academic grades. In the Fall Semester the club is opened to 8th graders only, but in Spring Semester 7th graders are eligible. We would like to congratulate the following students:

Jacob Ballutay, Mikaela De Guzman, Lucas Jones, Riley Lee, Abegail Linga, Chelsea Samonte, and Zachary Valenton.

We look forward to starting our meetings and service to our school community.
Thank you to our students and families - Our STEM kick-off assembly was a success! It was full of students chanting and growing in their interest in STEM. We hope you are as excited as we are about the positive changes that are in store.

One new and important place in our school is our STEM Bulletin Board. On it, we will ask questions, share celebrations, and post intriguing topics. Keep your eyes peeled!

The question on the board this week is, “How do you use STEM at home?” So far, we have many responses from students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Now it’s your turn! How do you use STEM at home? Click here and let us know!

Last school year, many children and families supported our Terracycle recycling efforts by helping to collect squeezy pouches and oral care items. I’m excited to announce that through our efforts, we raised a total of $141! That’s $141 in our pocket and NOT in the trash!

Let’s keep going and see if we can beat that amount this school year. Remember to recycle your squeezy pouches and oral care items of any brand with Ms. King.

We are also collecting dried-up markers of any kind and any brand. Instead of tossing an old marker into the trash, toss it into your class’s Colorcycle bag!
