SOROPTIMIST HOUSE SHOWERS

A big thank you to both SI Beaumont-Banning an SI Palm Desert for two amazing house showers. SIBB hosted a lovely lunch for staff and clients at the San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital on April 5, 2017. Everyone had a chance to share their joy and gratitude for being at SHOH and beginning their new lives. On April 6, SI Palm Desert treated us to a trip to the San Jacinto Monument Nature Walk, a beautiful lunch and lots of needed items for both houses. We always enjoy the annual club house showers and deeply appreciate the generosity, love and support of our Soroptimist friends.

Client Comments:

The second I walked through the doors of SHOH, I felt that I was home. To have had this opportunity to get to know me and build an intimate relationship with God has been an immeasurable blessing.I will forever be grateful to all the people behind the scenes that keep these doors open to encourage and help women.
Thank you, K.

I am so grateful for this program. Today I can look myself in the mirror and can tell myself I love you and mean it. I know today that I am loved, respected and my life has value and worth. I have learned how to be a lady. I am a miracle.
Thank you so much! L.

I am so grateful to have had the chance to go through SHOH. I've never felt so loved and blessed my whole life until I came here. I've seen miracles happen from women who complete this program and I am looking forward to coming back and sharing my recovery success with everyone at SHOH
Thank you very much, A.

President's Message

Thank you all for taking the time to read our newsletter and catch up on all the latest news for Soroptimist House of Hope. We are in the process of making a minor change, and that will be having our newsletter come out on a quarterly basis, so we hope all of you will continue to read all the good things SHOH does for our clients and beyond.
Speaking of good things, I want to remind you all of our annual event "Day of Hope" fundraiser on May 6, from 11:30 to 1:30 pm. Please see your invite above.  As a nonprofit organization, we are dependent on the generosity of the community to raise funds to support our program activities.

Executive Director Message

        JANUARY - MARCH 2017
Welcome  to the  beginning of the 2nd quarter of 2017! Spring has sprung and we have hit the ground running with our new Drug Medi-Cal ODS Waiver Agreement that was effective February 1, 2017.  A huge thank you to the loyal and dedicated staff of SHOH. You have all hung in with SHOH through many, many years of working diligently toward this exciting day. We also welcome two new employees to the SHOH family: Alexcia Ramirez and Elizabeth Webb who will serve as our night shift personnel effective 4-1-17.  Another thank you to our amazing Board of Directors who support and encourage us as we move into the reality of the new landscape in SUD Treatment Services.  One more big thank you to Rhyan Miller, SAPT Program Administrator with Riverside University Health Care System - Behavioral Health. Rhyan and his dedicated team have continued to help SHOH be the successful program that we are. Lupe and I continue to serve on the CCAPP Credentialing Board and Membership Board. Our service to these boards has been such a blessing in furthering our education and having such a plethora of resources throughout the state.
Besides our Drug Medi-Cal work, we are gearing up for our 4th Annual A Day of Hope on May 6, 2017. You can find more information in this newsletter. It will be the best one yet! Thank you Chris Francisco for your tremendous support and guidance.

Good News and . . . . .

SHOH received a grant to purchase a generator for electrical emergencies. It will allow business as usual in the event of a power outage.

We now have the generator and the next hurdle is to have it installed. We are in the process of finding the funds and also finding the right certified people to do the job.

Our goal is to be able to have it in operation before summer which we all know is not far away.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions please call.
