What is ARCAID?

ARCAID is a user-friendly website designed to provide vital resources that support rehabilitation and successful reintegration into the community. Whether seeking housing, substance use disorder treatment, employment opportunities, or simply essential support like food and clothing, ARCAID can help find what is needed.

ARCAID is constantly expanding its network of resources to better serve individuals transitioning back into the community. CDCR through ARCAID are actively seeking organizations dedicated to supporting rehabilitation and successful reentry to join the platform.

ARCAID Offers Access To:

  • Housing: Find information on transitional housing, shelters, and other housing assistance programs.
  • Substance Use Disorder Treatment: Locate treatment centers and support groups to aid in your recovery journey.
  • Transportation: Discover resources for transportation assistance, including public transit information and ride-sharing programs.
  • Employment Opportunities: Browse job listings, connect with employers, and access resources for job training and career development.
  • Food and Clothing: Find food banks, clothing closets, and other programs that provide essential support.
  • Education: Explore educational opportunities, including GED programs, vocational training, and college courses.

CDCR is asking that all programs that offer Educational programs partner by supporting the system with up to date site information, including address, classes, phone number, etc. By providing the program information and contact information it supports those that are justice impacted as they reintegrate into the community.

When adding the organization to the resource list, it can reach a wider audience and make a significant impact on the lives of individuals seeking a second chance.

Together, we can build a stronger and more supportive community for everyone.

Help OTAN Shape the Future of Digital Learning in Adult Education

Help OTAN Shape the Future of Digital Learning in Adult Education

The California Adult Education Digital Learning Guidance (DLG) is being updated to reflect the latest technology trends and best practices in digital learning. First published in 2022, the DLG serves as a resource for adult educators, helping them design and implement effective digital learning experiences across adult education and workforce development programs.

As part of the update, we’re launching a Tech Trends Survey to gather insights from educators, administrators, and workforce partners on the emerging technologies shaping adult education. Your input will help ensure the revised DLG reflects the tools educators and learners are using today—and what’s coming next.

The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete. Please share your perspective and help us gather broad input from the field!

📌 Complete the Tech Trends Survey Here

We also encourage you to share the survey with colleagues who work in adult education so we can capture a wide range of experiences and insights.

Submission Deadline: March 30, 2025

Thank you for your support in helping to update this important resource!

New Adult Education Teaching Credential Program

Many educators at Santa Clara Adult Education (SCAE) and other adult schools across California hold Adult Education Credentials issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). The CTC provides credentials for teachers in English Language Learner programs, High School Diploma programs, and other adult education programs statewide.

Requiring teachers to hold credentials ensures a high level of expertise and quality in the instruction provided to adult education students. However, pursuing an Adult Education Credential in California can be challenging. Currently, only four adult education credentialing programs exist in the state, all located in Southern California.

In response to this need, Santa Clara Unified School District, in collaboration with Evergreen Community College, is excited to announce a free Adult Education Credentialing Program for the local community and other adult schools statewide. SCAE will support teacher candidates through the application process for their preliminary and clear credentials, while Evergreen Community College will offer the required coursework.

Citizenship Workshops

Hosted by Apple Valley Adult School

TODECS serves as a vital regional resource for the community, providing guidance and support to clients, partner agencies, and workforce collaborators. One of our key tools is the constitutional rights information card, which we distribute as part of our mission to ensure clear communication and accessibility for all. To further enhance our outreach, our team utilizes a shared Canva account to create, translate, and update flyers monthly. These flyers are shared with the schools in the Victor Valley consortia and all 29 of our workforce partners, ensuring that information is both timely and accessible.

Additionally, our College, in collaboration with the regional Victor Valley Chapter of CCAE, generously provides snacks to participants, fostering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Together, these resources and efforts reflect a kind and professional approach to meeting the needs of our community.

Applications are open for the CAEP Consortium Leadership Academy (CLA)! The intended applicant is new to their role within the last 3 years. If you believe the CLA is perfect for you, but fall outside that criteria email TAP to discuss additional options.

The application window will close June 15, 20245 and notifications will be sent out at the end of June. The CLA program was created to build the capacity of consortia leads, directors, and co-chairs to effectively lead their consortium through a student-centered leadership approach.
