We are having a strong finish to another great year in Cranford. We recently broke ground on pedestrian safety improvements at Orange Avenue Pool and around Bloomingdale Avenue School and the Adams Softball Fields. In the pipeline for 2025 are pedestrian safety measures along Colin Kelly, Lexington, and Chester Lang. We selected a contractor for our Library Children’s Room Expansion Project and starting in early 2025 the Library will be open on Sundays. We welcomed a number of new businesses to our downtown this year and held dozens of Downtown events and programs to support our local businesses and entertain residents and visitors alike. We also had seven major road rebuilding, repaving, and/or drainage projects this year and are in design now for additional roads next year.
These are just a few of this year’s highlights. Thank you to our incredible Township professionals who do so much to serve our community. I wish everyone a joyous holiday season!

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over
As the holiday season approaches, the Cranford Police Department encourages all residents and visitors to celebrate responsibly and make the commitment to Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over. Have a plan whether you’re driving, riding or hosting. Before drinking or using cannabis, plan a safe and sober ride home. Don’t let someone get behind the wheel if they’ve been drinking or ingesting marijuana. If you’re hosting a gathering, make sure all your guests have a sober ride home. If you see an impaired driver, call 911. And always wear your seat belt. It’s your best defense against impaired drivers. If you feel different, you drive different.
