Clubhouse
The Golden Valley Community Club was chartered in 1952. We traditionally meet on the third Monday of the month at 7:00 in the evening. Meetings usually dismiss before 9:00. This is a dinner meeting, the first time you come please, come as our guest, the second time you come you come as a member, bring a dish and a dollar. We seldom meet in December. |

The Golden Valley Community Club will meet on Monday Feb. 21, at 7:00 PM at the Duncan's Creek Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall on Duncan's Creek Road. Bring a dish and a dollar!
Golden Valley's Facebook page is still hovering around 299 loyal "likers". We added some black and white pictures to the page (sent in by a reader) and people tell us they like it.
The Washburn Community Center is holding a sale on March 5th, read more about it below.

Washburn Community Outreach

A warehouse sale is being held on March 5th at the center. All items will be priced at 25 cents each! The sale will last from 9 until 2, stop by and tell your friends.
The center helped 635 famlies in 2010. They've provided food, clothing and have helped with other problems as well. Director Sophia Sneed is a retired social worker and has connections with many agencies throughout the county. If you or someone you know needs help, send them to the center. This is a real resource in our community.
The center is not far from Washburn Community Store, turn onto Piney Mountain Church Road, by the store, the center is in the old Washburn Community Club building about a block behind the store on the left, a sign at the road will direct you into their drive. |

We're going to have some cell phone meet-ups and take pictures. If you're out and about and your cell phone doesn'twork - take a picture and send it to Karen, kdmccall@gmail.com - we'll put your pictures on our Facebook Page. You can join Verizon's Facebook Fan Page, too.
We need our people, the people of Golden Valley, Sunshine, Duncan's Creek... and we need a bunch of people. And we need to hold a meet-up at the clubhouse, to get everyone with a cell phone to come. Date and time to be announced.
And we need your help.

We'll need a fire truck, a police car, and an ambulance.
