I am very grateful for the chance to come to SHOH and begin my new life.
I got the one on one attention I needed from staff.I love all of you ladies because you helped me find myself and showed me that we can and do recover. Thank you for everything! W.D.
This house has opened my eyes to things I had no idea I was struggling with. I can be a better mother now. The staff was very loving and supportive. I am grateful for SHOH, coming here was the best decision I every made! Sincerely K.W.
When I first arrived at SHOH, I kept hearing how this house is magic and to wait for the miracle to happen. I was hopeless and broken when I walked in. Now I'm leaving refreshed, lighter and healing. My foundation has been built here and I am eternally grateful. T.G.
I came to SHOH broken, abused, faithless and hopeless. I've felt unconditional love in this house. I've felt inspiration, hope, compassion and most important to me, faith. I hope you know that you are changing the world one woman at a time. I will never forget my experience at SHOH. Thank you again! K.A.

Soroptimist House of Hope
I hope this newsletter finds you all having a wonderful HOT summer and finding ways to keep cool. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the hottest part of the summer is over and back to "normal" temps arriving whenever that may be.
To all of you who attended our " A Day of Hope" event last May, I want to take this time to thank each and every one of you for supporting our annual fundraiser. For those who donated but could not attend, we thank you too because it's the support of all of you that keeps our doors open for another year. Our Master of Ceremonies, Patrick Evans, did
a wonderful job helping make our live auction a great success.
At SHOH we have a great Board of Directors and each and every one of them puts in their time and effort to make sure our organization runs like a fine tuned automobile, running smooth and making sure SHOH stays the best that it can be.
One of those wonderful Board members is having to leave our organization and will be moving to Oregon. She will be missed and I want to take this time to thank Judy Wehrli on behave of myself, the SHOH Board of Directors and Staff for being a big part of our SHOH family. Judy loves SHOH and it always showed in the details, whether it was making wonderful desserts for any of our open houses, or Christmas parties, and even for the " A Day of Hope" events of the past, she was always there with a big smile and a hug. She brought ideas to the table for the Board, and never said no when it came to volunteering for SHOH. So Judy, we thank you so much for you giving not only your time but your heart to SHOH, and remember we are always there for you and we are just a phone call away.
We love you, and wish you the best of luck on your new adventure.
On another note, I want to thank a couple of people that most of you don't see because they are the "behind the scenes" people that do that extra little thing whether its hanging a new door, replacing an old water heater, repairing closet doors, or replacing a light fixture in the kitchen, and repairing dresser drawer slides. This may not sound like a big deal, but when you have problems, the littlest of things can be a big deal to our clients and staff. David Schmoll, Jamie Stoneburner and Michael Pacardi are just three people who have stepped up to the plate when we needed help and fix the little things that were so needed. We thank you all and thank you for taking the time out of your day to help SHOH.
Have a wonderful summer everyone!
Respectfully,
George Fisher, President

Soroptimist House of Hope
Executive Director Message
APRIL 2017 - JUNE 2017
Summer has arrived with a vengeance and the 2nd quarter has flown by with the speed of light! SHOH continues to work diligently every day to ensure that our services are of high quality and in compliance with the Riverside University Health System - Behavioral Health - Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Program Administration (RUHS-BH-SAPT) ODS Waiver Agreement that was effective 2-1-17. We just completed the first 5 months on 6-30-17 and are excited about how successful our partnership with Riverside County has been. We currently enjoy a great rapport with county and state officials and I am so grateful for the guidance and support of both along with the dedication of my staff that is keeping up with changes on what seems like a daily basis. The free trainings (with CEU's included) that are made available by the county are invaluable so we have spent a good deal of the 2nd quarter attending these trainings. Our treatment services provided in Desert Hot Springs coupled with our Transitional Living services provided at Hope's Horizons in Banning make an amazing continuum of care for our clients!
In addition, SHOH continues to support CCAPP as a Program Member, Individual Members and as board members and advocates with a voice for the Substance Use Disorder treatment industry as a whole. That collective voice was able to stop AB700 that would have resulted in devastating our workforce. We also participated in the CCAPP Peer Review Process in late May. Growing with CCAPP has allowed SHOH to grow and stay on the pulse of our profession.
It has been an exciting quarter with our 4th annual fundraiser in May and much needed grants awarded during this time. The women that we serve continue to be so astonished at how wonderful their lives are after having experienced our program and know they have the support of SHOH for the rest of their lives!

Last but not least, a big thank you to Soroptimist International of Desert Cities/Coachella Valley and Soroptimist International of Idyllwild for providing SHOH with amazing love and support in the form of house showers in April and May. The clients get to meet the women that support SHOH and both sides come away with full hearts (and bellies too). A special thank you to Idyllwild for the overnight retreat. This was my 19th S.I. Idyllwild shower and they just keep getting better and better!
