Great Hearts Live Oak Family Newsletter-July 24th, 2020
Greetings, Live Oak Owls!

On behalf of the entire faculty and staff of Great Hearts Live Oak, thank you for the love and enthusiasm you poured into our community during yesterday's Drive Through Parade! It was such a delight to celebrate our new students and share our enthusiasm for this new adventure. When we reflected together during our morning meeting, there was a deepened conviction that we will find ways to stay safe and connected during this school year. Whether learning from a distance, or in-person, we are all Owls sheltered in the mighty branches of Great Hearts Live Oak.

Hoot, Hoot Hooray—and go Owls!
Headmaster Audelo
From now until August 12, this weekly feature will explore ways to support you and your students in distance learning.

Establishing a focused and comfortable workspace is a powerful way to support distance learning. Below are a few suggestions to help you plan.
  1. Locate an area that is removed from competing distractions, such as the TV.
  2. Help your student hear computer audio and cancel competing noise with a comfortable and well-fitting set of headphones or earbuds.
  3. Comfort matters! Many students do well with a chair that has a little bit of wiggle and which is a comfortable height from the floor and desk.
  4. Finally, we encourage you to involve your student in the planning. They will likely have valuable insights about what will work best for them.

  • Mark you calendars for our GHLO Meet the Headmaster event which has been rescheduled to August 4th from 12:00-1:30 pm. Meet the Headmaster will be hosted on our Great Hearts Live Oak Facebook page. Be sure to follow us.
