With summer vacation coming up fast, we want to remind you that this is a GREAT time to go on your Adventurous Journey! We have a variety of opportunities available if you're looking for a trip, scroll down to find out more!

Reminder: If you are going to register to go onto the next level of The Award, make sure to do so before July 1, as the registration fee is going up to $50 after July 1st.
Adventurous Journey Opportunities
Gold Canoe Trip  - July 6-10, 2018 with B'Nai Brith Camp Cost: $423.75 taxes inc.
Kenora and Lake of the Woods Canoe Trip. Participants must provide own transportation to and from Kenora. Pick up in Kenora at the Main Street Dock by boat to be taken to the Camp. Bronze Canoe Trip  - September 21 -23, 2018 with Twin River Travel - Cost $375 plus GST -  Bird River Canoe Trip.  A pre-trip meeting with a canoe practice session will be included ahead of the trip dates. If you feel you are unable to go on any of these trips due to the cost, please talk to the Manitoba Division office (call 204-988-3016 or email [email protected] ). We do have some funding available to support participants who wish to complete the adventurous journey.
Adventurous Journey Section: Helpful Tips
For the Adventurous Journey section in the Online Record Book, we have created a document that walks you through how to enter in all of the information and the steps that need to be done in order to complete this section. It is important for you to know that you have to fill in the information for both the practice journey and qualifying journey, have them approved by your Award Leader as activities, and then after you have gone on your trip, you need to go back into each of those activities and fill in the Observations under the REPORT tab. This is also where you will send that activity for approval by your assessor.

AWARD LEADERS NEEDED

We are looking for people who are interested in being Online Award Leaders.

What is an Online Award Leader? It is someone who oversees a group of participants but does that through email and phone. You are not meeting with them in person but instead following their progress and encouraging them through email and phone conversations. If you are a Gold Award Achiever and/or someone over the age of 20 and you are interested in being an Award Leader for current participants, please email Lindsay and let her know. We will be having training sessions this summer and setting up Virtual Open Award centers to support independent participants.
UPCOMING SILVER CEREMONY

There will be a Silver Ceremony this fall, likely in late November. If you are working on your Silver Award and nearing completion, please be sure to submit all of your required documents by the end of September so that we can get your Award approved prior to the Ceremony. Please remember it takes a couple of weeks to get an Award approved.
