Spruce Grove & District Chamber on Tap Mixer Series
Join us for our monthly business mixer and informal chat on the last Thursday of the month.

Our May Chamber on Tap Mixer's Guest (TBA) will be interviewed in a very casual and conversational format by our sponsor Dean Chapman of Frontline Financial.

These stories will be shared just like our growing list of past guests. These are business owners right here in our community who discuss their start up, challenges, what they've learned, and how they have achieved success.

There will also be lots of time to mix with fellow members and develop your network.

Our private section at The Canadian Brewhouse in Spruce Grove opens at 4:30 pm and the interview is from 6:00 - 6:30 pm.

Be inspired.
Build your network.

How we can start harmonizing US-Canada regulations
May 4, 2017     Written by Maryscott (Scotty) Greenwood
With Trump eager for some political wins, Canada should seize the moment and accelerate efforts to harmonize regulations between the two nations.

We've all been reading the negative and troubling headlines about a potential trade war between the United States and Canada on softwood lumber and dairy. But despite all the rhetoric, there are countless bright spots in the bilateral relationship that can and should be capitalized upon now - to the benefit of both countries.

What is our first step?
...was the topic of discussion at the initial "Unification Committee" meeting. This committee has been tasked by both the Stony Plain & District Chamber of Commerce and the Spruce Grove & District Chamber of Commerce boards of directors to look at how the two chambers can become more collaborative in the representation of their members.

Representatives from both chambers of commerce and from the Wabamun Chamber of Commerce openly discussed opportunities in drawing on each other strengths and doing more things together. They tossed around a lofty goal of become the Tri Region Chamber of Commerce down the road, however, the committee's task is to recommend the steps towards that goal, and have the boards of the respective chambers act on them.

As a member, if you have suggestions of how the chambers could best serve your business interests collaboratively, call Brenda (780.962.2561) or email and let us know.
