Louis' Grand Finale

May 10 - 12

This is a Firebird unlike any you’ve experienced before. Louis Langrée, in his final program as Music Director, leads the CSO in the premiere of a new song cycle by Anthony Davis, whose 2007 You Have the Right to Remain Silent made a poignant impression on CSO Livestream audiences in 2020. Then, Langrée concludes his tenure in collaboration with South African director Janni Younge of Janni Younge Productions. The result is a visually stunning performance of Stravinsky’s complete ballet score with music of enchantment, infernal dance, and a finale featuring the Firebird making a glorious appearance inside Music Hall.

Clue

May 14 - 19

Murder and blackmail are on the menu when six mysterious guests assemble at Boddy Manor for a night they’ll never forget! Was it Mrs. Peacock in the study with the knife? Or was it Colonel Mustard in the library with the wrench? Based on the cult 1985 Paramount movie and inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, CLUE is the ultimate whodunit that will leave you dying of laughter and keep you guessing until the final twist.

Voices of the Earth

May 23

Celebrating the natural wonders of earth and the perseverance of miners in Pennsylvania coal country, this program reflects both the beauty and tragedy of humanity’s relationship with our planet. Natural History is a collaboration between composer Michael Gordon and the Steiger Butte Singers. Written and commissioned to mark the centennial of the National Park System, the piece poses the question: If Crater Lake National Park were a symphony, what would it sound like? The result is a surround-sound celebration of nature and the park’s spiritual connection to the surrounding community.

Her Story

May 25

Julia Wolfe’s Her Story invokes the words of historical figures and the spirit of pivotal moments in history to pay tribute to the centuries of ongoing struggle for equal rights and representation for women in America. From the letters of Abigail Adams to words attributed to Sojourner Truth, Her Story, as explained by Julia Wolfe, “captures the passion and perseverance of women refusing subordination, demanding representation and challenging the prejudice and power structures that have limited women’s voices.”

Pride Marching Band

Were you in the band in high school or college? Do you miss it? Here's an opportunity to see if you still have what it takes! We are a fun, very low-pressure ensemble that comes together for Pride (June 22nd this year - parade steps off at 11am.) We occasionally will get asked to play additional Pride-related events, but nothing is mandatory. We are just a group of musicians (and helpers!) who share our PRIDE through music. Sound fun? John Arthur Flats

John Arthur Flats is now Pre-Leasing! John Arthur Flats is the first LGBTQ+ friendly 55+ senior affordable housing development in Cincinnati. It contains 57 newly constructed studio, 1- and 2-bedroom apartments affordable to seniors ranging from 30% AMI to 60% AMI. This 3-story elevator served building is in an ideal walkable location with easy access to the Northside business district, McKie Recreation Center and many other nearby amenities.

For many LGBTQ older adults, the social stigma they’ve experienced and the added stress of dealing with decades of discrimination can put them at greater risk of physical and mental illnesses, experiencing higher rates of poverty and suffering higher rates of housing discrimination. Innovative housing solutions like John Arthur Flats respond to this need, providing a safe and welcoming environment for seniors to age in place in community. All are welcome to apply!
