One reason we have such a strong and vibrant Cranford community is the large number of residents who volunteer their time, energy, and expertise to improving our township. Cranford's local government has a number of boards and committees where resident volunteers help promote pedestrian safety, organize town events, improve our environment, and determine the future of our Township. The application website is now online for those interested in being appointed to a board or committee in 2025.
Thanks to all those who already serve our community.

November 12 Official Meeting Highlights | |
|
Mayor Andrews
• Township Election Results --Congratulated Gina Black in her reelection as Township Commissioner. Commended Juan Carlos Nordelo for his positive, issue focused campaign.
• Amidst the national elections, highlighted our local government will continue to prioritize and recognize kindness and respect. We promote a community that is welcoming and inclusive of all kinds of families and individuals. When we have concerns about a federal or state issue, we will speak out, like federal support to fight flooding and the full funding and timely completion of the Gateway Project to secure direct train service for our residents.
• Union College Cell Tower litigation—Township has been in a legal battle against the cell tower after the Zoning Board denied the application. Township counsel has advised that the Township to settle. Settlement to include small concessions on location to move as far away from houses as possible and ability for Cranford public safety professionals to utilize cell tower for our antennas.

|
Commissioner Kathleen Miller Prunty Engineering & Public Works
- Commended Imagine, A Center Center for Coping With Loss, for their support work with children and families dealing with the death of a parent, sibling or child. Imagine is currently providing support to more than 600 families, including five in Cranford. Imagine has also conducted training for counsellors in Cranford middle and high school, classroom training for 6th grade and parent workshops.
- Drought conditions and warmer than usual weather have caused leaves to drop more quickly than usual affecting pick up. DPW is working diligently every day to keep up with leaf pick up but they are behind schedule. Leaves in all neighborhoods will be picked up.
-
Asked residents to help by clearing storm sewers of leaves and debris near their homes. Also leave space between leaf pile and curb line for water flow to sewer.
