Going Above and Beyond In Learning and Serving

October 30, 2025

Don't Forget to FALL BACK on Sunday, November 2nd!

Daylight Saving Ends: Turn your clocks back one hour on Sunday (officially at 2:00am)

A Note From Mrs. Hibler:

Dear St. Jude School Families,

We are pleased to share some exciting news about an important addition to our school community. Beginning Monday, November 3, 2025, we will have a full-time School Resource Officer (SRO) on staff. These SROs are Elyria Police Officers who will rotate their schedules to best meet the needs of our school. An officer will be on campus each day that school is in session.

This opportunity was made possible through the generous support of The Dan & Mila Reaser Family Foundation. Dan and Mila Reaser have been a vital part of our Elyria community, and we are especially grateful to them and their children, Danny & Bailey Reaser and Shannon & Kyle Brown, who are active and involved members of our school family. Their generosity helps ensure that our students, staff, and families continue to have a safe and supportive environment for learning.

As we welcome our new SROs to campus, we look forward to building strong relationships between our students and local law enforcement. Our goal is for children to see police officers as trusted adults who care about their safety, education, and well-being. Through daily interaction and positive connections, we hope to foster mutual respect and understanding between students and officers.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we take this positive step forward for our school community. If you have any questions please reach out to me at: mhibler@stjudejaguars.org.

A Note From Our Nurse:

Cough and cold season is here! If your child is ill, has a fever, is coughing up yellow or green mucus, or has thick drainage from their nose, please keep them home until they show signs of feeling better.

Cough Drops Reminder: If your child needs cough drops during the school day, a supply may be sent in along with a NOTE stating home many they may have per day and a parent signature; cough drops must be kept in the clinic, not with the student.

Medication Reminder: If a student needs medication during the school day, you MUST contact the clinic and complete proper paperwork before sending it in. Students may not carry meds in their backpacks, lunch boxes, or pockets!

If you have any questions or are unsure about something, please contact me at jjanuzzi@stjudejaguars.org or 440-366-1681.

SCHOOL NEWS

Halloween Celebrations Tomorrow

Students may dress in costumes, but may not have weapons or scary masks. Students may wear non-scary masks for the parade, but are not permitted to wear masks during the school day. Costumes should be able to be worn all day; inflatables are permitted, but please send a change of clothes in case they become too much.

You may choose to send in candy or a treat to be passed out, as students will receive a bag to bring home any goodies, but it must follow these guidelines:

  • Store bought
  • Individually packaged by the manufacturer
  • No cupcakes/cookies, etc. that are unwrapped or homemade
  • Anything that does not follow the guidelines will be sent back with that student.
