On June 26th the fabulous city of Sausalito held its first post Covid event, a fundraiser for the three Sausalito Sister Cities: Casçais, Portugal; Sakaide, Japan; and Viña del Mar, Chile.
The Sausalito-Viña del Mar Program
The purpose and mission of the Viña del Mar Sausalito Sister City program is to promote a cross-cultural and economic exchange between the two cities.

Karen Aiken, Paula Tejeda, Melissa Mooney, Lizzie Brown-Jeremi
Decked out to represent Viña del Mar, Chile, at Sister Cities' fundraiser. The flag I inherited from my grandmother, Elizabeth Nielsen, and the painting is by my aunt, Georgina Rieloff.
In 2016 Sausalito Sister Cities, Inc. won the Sister Cities International's "2016 Best Overall Program Award," for a city with a population less than 25,000.

This year the Sister Cities International award was given specifically to the Sausalito - Viña del Mar program for “Innovation for Business,Trade, and Professional Exchange for a City with a Population under 25,000."

To celebrate this great achievement the Sausalito-Viña operations council hosted a wonderful luncheon at Plaza Viña del Mar in Sausalito, on August 30th.

"The luncheon celebration exemplifies how a community’s real strength is the aggregate of its multiple organizations and their support of one another. Sausalito believes in living well locally and working together globally. The Sausalito Sister Cities, Inc.
