The Search Committee is excited to announce Cory Kitch and his family are coming to candidate for Senior Pastor at Discovery Church. Cory and family will be at Discovery the weekend of October 12-13. He will be preaching on Sunday morning and we will have a church wide potluck lunch after our worship service. We will have a Q and A time following the lunch so you can interact with him. The Pastor Search team is also planning other times of gathering with Cory for you. 

A congregational meeting is planned for October 20th immediately following our morning service for discussion and vote by members on extending a call to Cory to be the next Senior Pastor at Discovery. Cory's brief resume will be available in Sunday's bulletin.
Christmas Cantata calling all singers to our practice following the worship service for the Christmas cantata entitled “The Greatest Story Ever Told”. Books of the entire cantata will be available as well downloadable listening CD’s and rehearsal tracks for each part. The cantata along with the children’s parts will be presented to the public on December 15 at 6:00 PM. Wednesday Night Meal 5:30 PM. You do not need to sign up - just come and eat. Free will donations accepted. This meal is available to the entire Discovery Family. The menu will be published ahead of time. Different groups will be preparing the meal.

Wednesday Night Opening 6:30 PM everyone (except Discovery Zone for Kids) will gather in the worship center for a brief time of music and announcements. Following the opening, everyone will be dismissed to their respective classes.
Adult Bible Study Wednesdays at 6:30 PM, will watch the next session Can’t Stop Won’t Stop 
the video series Built  by Louis Giglio. What does it mean to be built? How do we build a life that, like a wisely built house, stands the test of time?  Built  dives into what it means to let Jesus build your life like a house, from the foundation to the rooftop.
Revival , for students 6th-12th grade, Wednesdays night. We will meet in the worship center at 6:30 PM and then go to "The Attic".
Discovery Zone for Kids , for children age 4—5th grade, Wednesdays. Meet downstairs for our opening at 6:30 PM and then go to our respective classes.

Women’s Tuesday Bible Study meets Tuesdays, 5:30 PM. We are studying Romans Part II. All women are invited—even if you missed out on Romans I. No child care.
Women’s Bible Study meets Thursdays at 9:00 AM. October 3 we will begin a new study entitled “Lies Women Believe” by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth. We will meet in the new fellowship hall. All women are invited. Child care provided downstairs in the nursery.   Questions? Contact the church office at (605) 689-2211 or here.
Adult Sunday School beginning October 13 will have three options:
  1. October 13 & 20 will be “Getting Acquainted with Discovery” for those who are interested in membership or just wanting more information about Discovery Church will meet in the northwest corner of the worship center. Taught by Pastor Barry and the Elders.
  2. “Financial Peace University” by Dave Ramsey will meet in the new fellowship hall for nine weeks. Directions to sign up will be available Sunday. Taught by Don Campbell.
  3. “Forensic Faith”by J. Warner Wallace—an eight session video and discussion series from RightNow Media will meet in the youth area upstairs. Taught by Dave Hofer.
Ladies Fall Craft Event LADIES, you are invited to make a couple of pumpkins similar to those sitting on the shelf by the rear door coat rack on SATURDAY morning, Oct 19 th  from 9:30 – 11:30am (in the new fellowship hall). The cost is $5, payable that day. Please sign up (by the display pumpkins) or email Karen Brazelton  here by Monday, October 14 so we can buy supplies.
