At Timothy:

Note from Mark I wanted to take a moment to thank the congregation for the wonderful support I received during and in the recovery of my back surgery. It was a blessing to have so many notes, in person visits, meals and prayers with the special people of Timothy. I will be starting the physical therapy phase next week, but the surgery was successful (praise God!) and the relief has been a very welcome addition to my daily routines. Thank you all for your prayers and support!

Voters Assembly
Sunday, September 23
12:15 pm in the Gymnasium (pizza and salad available)
The purpose of this meeting is to receive a recommendation from the Call Committee to extend a call to one of the four candidates with whom the Committee conducted follow-up interviews: Steve Miller (St. Andrew, Silver Springs, MD), Eric Longman (St. Paul’s, Jackson, MO), Andrew Dinger (Holy Trinity, Somerset, NJ), and Sean McCoy (Shepherd of the Hills, Skiatook, OK). Two other candidates that were interviewed in the first round have indicated that this is not an appropriate time for them to consider a call.
The Committee will release the names it will be recommending as soon as possible, electronically via Constant Comment and the Timothy website (timothystl.org), and in the September 16 Newsletter.

CHOIR begins on September 26! Mark your calendars! Hope to see many new faces! MARANATHA is on hold as we lost our director and our guitarist is in Germany for a year. We are currently working to find a director for both groups!

Expand Gospel Proclamation through
New Technology

Thank you for your prayers and financial partnership. It’s because of you that we can share the recent news that the Rev. Dr. Michael Zeigler joins our team in October as the new Speaker of The Lutheran Hour. We invite you to join us on Reformation Sunday (Oct. 28) as Rev. Zeigler takes the microphone for the first time. It will be an experience you can share with your entire family!

  The announcement of the new Speaker is not the only excitement surrounding the program — LHM continues to leverage technology to get the broadcast in front of new audiences. In addition to being available on more than 1,800 traditional radio outlets throughout North America, over the American Forces Network, and online at lutheranhour.org , almost 90 years after its first airing the weekly broadcast can also now be heard through several new media platforms:

  • A podcast subscription; subscribe at lhm.org/podcasts;
  • A mobile app for Android devices and iPhones; visit lhm.org/apps for more information;
  • Amazon Alexa, a voice-activated assistant to play media programming;
  • Spotify, an on-demand media streaming service;
  • iHeartRadio, a free broadcast and internet radio platform; and
  • SiriusXM Satellite Radio’s Family Talk Channel 131 at 10 a.m. EST every Sunday.

Ultimately, you make the expansion of these broadcasts possible! God uses your gifts and prayers to touch the hearts of people with His love each week through The Lutheran Hour and other outreach efforts here in North America and around the world. Your gift today can make a world of difference in sharing the Gospel far and wide and creating sacred memories for families just like yours!
