Tesla STEM PTSA is excited to offer an ACT preparation course for students registering for the ACT exam on February 9
th, 2019.
What
:
Paragon Tutoring
course includes 8 2-hour group sessions, 4 proctored full length ACT practice exams, study materials, and coaching
Who
: Recommended for 11th graders
When
: First practice exam is Sat, Nov 17 at 9:00 am; first group session is Tues, Dec 4 at 2:45pm
Price
: $385 per student, due by Nov 9th.
Why
: Main goal of the course is confidence. Your student will learn the format of the ACT, what the ACT covers, and how to approach exam questions.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Training
|
|
|
What:
training designed to teach adults how to help adolescents experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or in crisis.
The instructor for this training is Larry Wright, PhD.(click here for more info).
When:
Tuesday, December 4th, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Where:
Sammamish Conference Room, LWSD Resource Center in Redmond.
RSVP:
We can register up to 22 people for this training. Please email [email protected] to reserve your spot. Registration is on a first-come basis.
Other details:
There is a $20 registration fee for this training to cover the cost of the Mental Health First Aid workbook.
Light snacks will be provided. Please bring a sack lunch.

- This a free seminar and is open to all parents of LWSD.

The lost and found has accumulated lots of water bottles, lunch bags, and clothing. Please have your students look through the mass and claim their items by Wednesday, November 21
st. Anything left at the end of school on the 21
st will be tossed or donated to charity. Thanks!

Scholarship Basket Auction
|
|
|
The LWPTSA Council cordially invites you to our 2018 Scholarship Basket Auction on Thursday, December 6 from 10-11am at the LWSD Resource Center in Redmond. Auction baskets are currently on display in the Resource Center, and
you can bid now - all proceeds go to scholarships. Bid on a lunch with our new superintendent Dr. Jane Sevem! We have several spa and beauty experiences this year and lots of items by local artists and homegrown businesses - some well-established like the Pro Club and Salish Lodge. Bidding must be done in person, although you can view the baskets
online. The morning of December 6 we host a festive event with complimentary coffee drinks, fantastic raffle items and a door prize for people who have invited and brought a friend! Do some holiday shopping, or just enjoy mingling with other people who value and support education. You don't have to be present to win, so swing by the district headquarters and bid when you are at Redmond Town Center. If you have questions, email

Tesla STEM PTSA believes that financial need shouldn't be a barrier to students fully participating in the Tesla STEM HS curriculum. To support that, the PTSA has partnered with the school counselors and Principal to provide scholarship funds to students in need.
Families who need help with fees and supplies are encouraged to contact their counselor at STEM with their requests.
Confidentiality of such requests is strictly maintained - requests are considered by the school and no one at PTSA knows the names of the requestors.
Please don't hesitate to contact the counselors, if PTSA can help.
