F ire Island Pines Property Owners Association

I hope everyone saw the newly lighted harbor this weekend.  With the cherry trees (old and new) aglow, it looked terrific!  The first phase of the harbor rebuilding project is now complete, and the second phase for the freight dock will start at the end of the 2017 season.  Our new harbor is the result of two things -  close collaboration with the Town and a great deal of volunteer effort.  I cannot emphasize enough that each of FIPPOA's projects: (the new harbor, beach dune building, contractor enclosures, the Pines Party and so on) occur only as the result of countless hours of volunteer effort.  Special thanks go to Randy Wilson for his work lighting the harbor.  Randy almost drove the electrician and me crazy with his up -lights, down-lights and moon-lights.

This Saturday at 1 pm we will dedicate the Harbor Plaza to the memory of Alan Brockman.  It would be great if there were a nice town turnout to show appreciation to Alan for his generous gift to the community.  The dedication will be short and hopefully sweet.

You may have noticed the new blue "SAGE-Kent" Mobility Access Cart.  Many  thanks to those of you who donated the funds to purchase this cart and  a very special thanks to the volunteer drivers who provide this valuable service to the community.

FIPPOA is wrapping up a major cleanup along the roadway through the community.  If you see anyone dumping along the road way, please say something to them.

The Pines Party is hoping to have 100% participation in the 2017 community journal.  You can reserve your space in the journal here or contact the FIPPOA office.

Hope to see you Saturday at the dedication!
