FIELD DAY THANK YOU

Last Fri., Sep. 13th, 2024

THANK YOU to all of our wonderful alumni and parent volunteers! Jax, who graduated last year, had the day off school so he volunteered to help Mr. Liou and Mrs. Dudek during field games. Later in the day, Barbara Malnar-Styke (Finley) joined us for biking. Field Day was a huge success thanks to your help. We can't have these events without volunteers, and the kids and Steppingstone staff so appreciate you!!!

YOGA - PRACTICING

PATIENCE & BALANCE

This year, we are starting our P.E. Curriculum again with four yoga sessions at DownPup Yoga located right in PARC. In addition to learning and practicing yoga, students will also participate in activities to practice other life skills like patience and balance.

JOIN US TO DECORATE

SCARECROWS IN THE PARK

Sun., Sep. 22, 3 PM AT

KELLOG PARK

It’s that time of the year again when our families prepare to decorate our scarecrows in the park! This year, the students have decided on the theme of an astronaut scarecrow. Thank you to our parents Michelle Tan for coordinating and Dena Shuayto, Robert & Jenny Schiff, and Barbara Malnar-Styke for volunteering to help decorate. If you are interested in helping, you can look for our Steppingstone School sign this Sunday, September 22, 3 PM at Kellogg Park. You can also contact Mr. Liou at dliou@steppingstoneschool.org for more information.

CELEBRATING

MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL

Mandarin Class

In celebration of the Mid-Autumn/Moon Cake Festival (Tue., Sep.17), students learned about the festival during this week’s Mandarin class. Pictured below, students sampled mung bean cakes and even made their own Moon Cakes with special "doh".

In Chinese culture, festivals such as the mid-autumn festival are an important family gathering opportunity. There's even an old saying that goes "People and the moon reunite to form a full circle". Mooncakes are a traditional food associated with the festival, and the ingredients and cooking style vary all across Asia.
