Update on Parent Teacher Conferences
Elementary
We will follow the same distance learning schedule the week of September 21 - 25. Teachers will contact families in the coming weeks to schedule a conference.
Middle School
Conferences have been postponed to the week of October 12. If you would like to meet with your child’s teacher(s) before, please contact them directly. More information to come.

Library Books are NOW available
We are happy to open our libraries this year and give all our students access to books. El Sol Academy will be doing a No Contact Library check out system.
Students will be able to browse our library catalog from home, place a hold, and pick up library books using Destiny, our library catalog.
The following slides will give you step by step instructions on how to login, search, and place a library hold.

Middle School Parents
Information about Fridays special guest speakers: “Keeping the American Dream Alive at El Sol”
Marshall Kaplan (El Sol Executive Director El Sol Foundation) and Monique Daviss (El Sol Executive Director) will be hosting a wonderful 8-week event titled “Keeping the American Dream Alive at El Sol.” This weekly event will host a special guest who will share their inspirational stories of challenges and triumphs to achieve successful careers.
The goal of this event is to inspire students to believe in their own American dream and hopefully see these guest speakers as role models.
- This event is mandatory for all middle school students.
- The students will log in to their homeroom class at 8:15am and at that time they will be given instructions about how to access the event via zoom.
- The event is this Friday September 18 starting at 8:45 am until 10 am.
- After 10am students can continue with their regular asynchronous schedule.

Marshall Kaplan (Director Ejecutivo de El Sol Fundación El Sol) y Monique Daviss (Directora Ejecutiva de El Sol) serán los anfitriones de un maravilloso evento de 8 semanas titulado "Manteniendo vivo el sueño americano en El Sol". Este evento semanal contará con un invitado especial que compartirá sus inspiradoras historias de desafíos y triunfos para lograr carreras exitosas.
El objetivo de este evento es inspirar a los estudiantes a creer en su propio sueño americano y, con suerte, ver a estos oradores invitados como modelos a seguir.
- Este evento es obligatorio para todos los estudiantes de secundaria.
- Los estudiantes iniciarán sesión en su clase (homeroom) a las 8:15 am y en ese momento se les darán instrucciones sobre cómo acceder al evento a través de zoom.
- El evento comienza este viernes de septiembre 18 a las 8:45 am hasta las 10 am.
- Después de las 10am los estudiantes pueden continuar con su horario asincrónico habitual.

Lunch Program Information
- Parents can pick up Breakfast from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm.
- Lunch from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. We cannot provide Lunches earlier because they are not available. Lunches arrive to the School at 9:30 am.
- They can opt for taking both or one at a time. Students can come at 10:35 am and ask for his/her lunch and breakfast or he/she could come at 2:25 pm and ask for both as well
- Meals will be served on the Elementary Site only.
- Meals distribution Protocols go back to normal. The student MUST be present to receive the Meal.
- Meals are ONLY for El Sol Students.

A drive-thru coronavirus testing site at the OC Fair & Event Center will add capacity to the system, just in time to handle a potential flood of local school staff and students hoping to return to in-person instruction.
