School Re-Opening Update!
Orange County had expected to allow schools to re-open on September 8th. However, on Aug. 28, Governor Gavin Newsom announced a new four-tiered system to track COVID-19 progress by county.

The California Department of Public Health has reviewed Orange County’s COVID-19 data and determined it will be necessary to wait an additional two weeks before allowing in-person instruction. Although the county is expected to be reclassified into a less restrictive “red tier” on Sept. 8, the state says it has to remain in that tier for another 14 days before schools can welcome back students. Local schools are on track to reopen to students on Tuesday, Sept. 22, according to County Health Officer Dr. Clayton Chau.

El Sol is carefully monitoring the state, county and local public health situation and we continue to confer with local public health officials. We have not yet determined a re-opening date, but we are actively planning for a transition to a hybrid program as soon as it is safe to do so.

El Condado de Orange esperaba permitir que las escuelas reabrieran el 8 de septiembre. Sin embargo, el 28 de agosto, el gobernador Gavin Newsom anunció un nuevo sistema de cuatro niveles para rastrear el progreso de COVID-19 por condado.
 
El Departamento de Salud Pública de California ha revisado los datos de COVID-19 del Condado de Orange y ha determinado que será necesario esperar dos semanas más antes de permitir la instrucción en persona. Lunch Program Information

  1. Parents can pick up Breakfast from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm. 
  2.  Lunch from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. We cannot provide Lunches earlier because they are not available. Lunches arrive to the School at 9:30 am. 
  3. They can opt for taking both or one at a time. Students can come at 10:35 am and ask for his/her lunch and breakfast or he/she could come at 2:25 pm and ask for both as well
  4.  Meals will be served on the Elementary Site only. 
  5.  Meals distribution Protocols go back to normal. The student MUST be present to receive the Meal. 
  6. Meals are ONLY for El Sol Students.

A drive-thru coronavirus testing site at the OC Fair & Event Center will add capacity to the system, just in time to handle a potential flood of local school staff and students hoping to return to in-person instruction.
