Picture Retakes Oct. 26

Anyone who wants school photo retakes or had a child absent on photo day should note that Picture Retakes are on Oct. 26. Those getting retakes need to have their child bring the photo packet with all of the pictures to the retake session. Those who missed the first Picture day should have payment and order form on hand. Extra forms can be obtained in either office.

Wreaths available through band fundraiser

The Middle School and High School band students are raising funds by selling wreaths and other holiday items through Lynch Creek Farms. There are both fall and Christmas options.

Raised funds will be used to purchase drum equipment for Pep Band, instruments for upcoming 5th graders, bass clarinet, and tenor saxophone. You can order items online at www.lynchcreekfundraising.com/c/301301.

MS Boys Basketball meeting planned

Any students interested in Middle School Boys Basketball should plan to attend the informational meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 3:15pm in the Den Foyer. Parents are welcome. All players will need to have a proof of a doctor's physical turned in prior to the first practice.

Auction excitement building

Dear fellow MLCA parents,

Ever since my oldest child, who is now in 8th grade, was a 1st grader I have had the pleasure of being part of the Annual Auction Committee. I chose to be part of the Auction because when I found out that the proceeds from this event help fund things like curriculum, teacher salaries, and building maintenance, and that it is vital in keeping tuition as low as possible, I realized this was where I wanted my efforts to go. Today, I am the acting Auction Committee chairperson for the fourth year in a row.

I know I am a little biased, but the Auction is the single most important fundraiser for MLCA. Before you start to argue that the Crab Feed is a bigger deal, let me explain. The Auction funds MLCA's general fund. The Crab Feed is the main fundraiser for the MLCA Athletic Program. Don’t get me wrong, the athletic program is super important for our school, and now that I have a secondary student involved in athletics I’m even more of a supporter of this part of MLCA. But this distinction of where the funds go is what makes me convinced of the significance of the Fall Auction.

I know that the members of the Auction Committee feel privileged to support the school by working to make the event successful each year. I also know that many of you parents go above and beyond by donating items, sponsoring tables and helping with classroom projects, all of which are integral in the success of the auction.

I am so excited to be a part of a school family that is willing to come together to support the efforts of our teachers and administrators. This school has thrived on this kind of support for almost 50 years and I’m sure it will only continue to grow. Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you at the Auction Nov. 4th.

Blessings,

Janeil Koethke
