Benjamin Franklin High School wins Los Angeles Unified School District's 2018-19 Academic Decathlon
Benjamin Franklin High School has won the 2018-19 Academic Decathlon for the Los Angeles Unified School District, officials announced Saturday.
“Today you shined the brightest with your skill, hard work and determination,” the district tweeted in its announcement.

Mayor Garcetti launches campaign for free tax preparation

Mayor Eric Garcetti recently launched a campaign to provide low-to-moderate income households with free tax preparation services, and help taxpayers claim State and Federal tax credits. Households with annual incomes of $54,000 or less may qualify for approximately $9,000 in cash back through the State and Federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Learn More

Metro's Low-Income Fair is Easy Program
Metro’s Rider Relief Program is now the LIFE (Low-Income Fare is Easy) program. Qualifying riders can save even more on Metro 7-Day, 30-Day or toward fare on participating transit operators with LIFE benefits. Starting July 1, 2019, LIFE benefits will no longer be distributed as paper coupons.
