LA Animal Services is excited to announce that we will be offering Free Cat Spay/Neuter Certificates to all LA City residents, regardless of income levels, throughout the entire month of May!
By spaying or neutering your cat or kitten, you are helping LA Animal Services get one step closer to ending the Los Angeles community’s pet overpopulation and helps the Department place more animals in permanent homes. Vamos a Pescar! Let's go fishing! We'll be giving fishing poles to youngsters to learn to fish, helping to rig up their rods, and demonstrating fishing techniques. On May 19th and 20th we'll be rigging up our fishing poles and learning about knots and river conservation. On May 26th and May 27th we'll be fishing at the Bowtie parcel of Los Angeles River State Park. Join us for both days to get your free fishing rod and reel!

Six museums in Los Angeles and Pasadena open their doors for a free day of art, architecture, culture and family-fun. Free shuttles connect all the museums, so you can see them all.
Participating museums include: Autry’s Southwest Museum, Gamble House, Heritage Square, Los Angeles Police Museum, Lummis Home, Pasadena Museum of History.
Last museum entrance is at 4 PM.

Arts Writers Grant Program

The Creative Capital | Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant Program opened its 2018 grant applications today for both emerging and established writers who are writing about contemporary visual art. Ranging from $15,000 to $50,000 in four categories—articles, blogs, books and short-form writing—these grants support projects addressing both general and specialized art audiences, from scholarly studies to self-published blogs.
